Subtask 52-36-15-860-056-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (2) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002)
   (3) Make sure that the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (4) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
   (5) Make sure that the warning notices are in position.
   (6) Make sure that the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) is around the applicable manual selector valve.

4. Procedure
Subtask 52-36-15-420-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Manual Selector Valve
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
CAUTION: YOU MUST INSTALL HYDRAULIC TUBES WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID AS LUBRICANT.
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Install a new AIPC 52-36-15-01-090 O-RING (14) on the valve body (13).
   (4) Install the valve body (13) as follows:
     (a) Put the valve body (13) in position on the mounting (15) and attach it with the washers (10) and the bolts (9).
     (b) TORQUE the bolts (9) to between 0.5 and 0.4 m.daN (44.25 and 35.40 lbf.in )
T.
   (5) Install the bonding strap (8) with the bolt (6), the washer (7) and the nut (22) on the valve body (13) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (6) Install the selector (3) as follows:
     (a) Apply a small drop of Threadlocking Adhesive-- Medium strength - (Material No.05BAE1) to the thread of the screw (1).
     (b) Put the selector (3) on the square axle of the valve body (13) and attach it with the washer (2) and the screw (1).
     (c) TORQUE the screw (1) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in ) T.
     (d) Make sure that the selector (3) stays in the NEUTRAL position.
     (e) Apply Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.
04QAB2) to the head of the screw (1) as a protection.
     (f) Turn the selector (3) to the OPEN or the CLOSE position and make sure that it goes automatically back to the NEUTRAL position.
   (7) Connect the hydraulic connections as follows:
     (a) Remove the blanking plugs from the pipe ends and the valve body (13).
     (b) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
     (c) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the threads of the line end fittings.
     (d) Put the hydraulic lines (5), (17), (18) and (19) carefully on the valve body (13).
     (e) TORQUE the union nuts (4), (16), (20) and (21) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft ) T.
   (8) Operate the selector (3) to make sure that it goes automatically back to the NEUTRAL position.
   (9) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connector (11) and the receptacle of the proximity switch (12).
   (10) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (11) Connect the electrical connector (11) to the proximity switch (12).
Subtask 52-36-15-420-050-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Manual Selector Valve
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
CAUTION: YOU MUST INSTALL HYDRAULIC TUBES WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID AS LUBRICANT.
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Install a new
AIPC 52-36-15-01-090 O-RING (22) on the valve body (21).
   (4) Install the valve body (21) as follows:
     (a) Put the valve body (21) in position on the mounting (23) and attach it with the washers (9) and the bolts (10).
     (b) TORQUE the bolts (10) to between 0.5 and 0.4 m.daN (44.25 and 35.40 lbf.in )
T.
   (5) Install the bonding strap (14) with the bolt (12), the washer (13) and the nut (11) on the valve body (21) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (6) Install the selector (4) as follows:
     (a) Apply a small drop of Threadlocking Adhesive-- Medium strength - (Material No.05BAE1) to the thread of the screw (2).
     (b) Put the selector (4) on the square axle of the valve body (21) and attach it with the washer (1) and the screw (2).
     (c) TORQUE the screw (2) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in ) T.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (d) Safety the screw (2) with the 14QDC1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES - (3).
     (e) Make sure that the selector (4) stays in the NEUTRAL position.
     (f) Turn the selector (4) to the OPEN or the CLOSE position and make sure that it goes automatically back to the NEUTRAL position.
   (7) Connect the hydraulic connections as follows:
     (a) Remove the blanking plugs from the pipe ends and the valve body (21).
     (b) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
     (c) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.
02ABA1) to the threads of the line end fittings.
     (d) Install the hydraulic lines (6), (7), (16) and (17) carefully on the valve body (21).
     (e) TORQUE the union nuts (5), (8), (15) and (18) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft ) T.
   (8) Operate the selector (4) to make sure that it goes automatically back to the NEUTRAL position.
   (9) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connector (19) and the receptacle of the proximity switch (20).
   (10) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (11) Connect the electrical connector (19) to the proximity switch (20).
Subtask 52-36-15-420-050-F ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
CAUTION: YOU MUST INSTALL HYDRAULIC TUBES WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID AS LUBRICANT.
A. Installation of the Manual Selector Valve
NOTE: The procedures to install manual selector valves 2501MJ and 2504MJ are the same. Only one procedure is given.
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Install the new
AIPC 52-36-15-01-090 O-RING (21) on the valve body (18).
   (4) Install the valve body (18) as follows:
     (a) Hold the valve body (18) in position on the mounting (1) and install the washers (8) and the bolts (9).
     (b) Tighten the bolts (9).
   (5) Install the bonding strap (13) with the bolt (11), the washer (12) and the nut (10) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (6) Install the selector (3) as follows:
     (a) Apply a drop of Threadlocking Adhesive-- High strength - (Material No.05BAJ1) on the thread of the bolt (2).
     (b) Put the selector (3) on the square axle of the valve body (18).
     (c) Install and tighten the bolt (2).
     (d) Make sure that the selector (3) stays in the NEUTRAL position.
     (e) Turn the selector (3) to the OPEN or the CLOSE position and then release it. Make sure that the selector (3) automatically goes back to the NEUTRAL position.
   (7) Connect the hydraulic connections as follows:
     (a) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
     (b) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
     (c) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) on the threads of the hydraulic line end-fittings.
     (d) Carefully install the hydraulic lines (5), (6), (15) and (16) on the valve body (18).
     (e) TORQUE the unions (4), (7), (14) and (17) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft ) T.
   (8) Turn the selector (3) to the OPEN or the CLOSE position and then release it. Make sure that the selector (3) automatically goes back to the NEUTRAL position.
   (9) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (10) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (11) Connect the electrical connector (19) to the proximity switch (20).

C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Operational Test
   (1) Bleed the hydraulic system of the cargo compartment doors (Ref. AMM TASK 52-36-00-600-001) to remove possible air bubbles.
   (2) Make sure that the selector (3) moves always to the NEUTRAL position when you release it during the bleeding procedure.
   (3) Examine the hydraulic connections of the manual selector valve 2501MJ or 2504MJ and make sure that there are no leaks.
Subtask 52-36-15-710-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
D. Operational Test
   (1) Bleed the hydraulic system of the cargo compartment doors (Ref. AMM TASK 52-36-00-600-001) to remove possible air bubbles.
   (2) Make sure that the selector (4) always moves to the NEUTRAL position when you release it during the bleeding procedure.
   (3) Examine the hydraulic connections of the manual selector valve 2501MJ or 2504MJ and make sure that there are no leaks.
5. Close-up
Subtask 52-36-15-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access

   (1) FOR [2501MJ] (MAN SEL VALVE-FWD CARGO DOOR)
     (a) Install the applicable floor panel in the FWD cargo compartment between FR29 and FR30 (Ref. AMM TASK 53-22-14-400-001).
     (b) Close and lock the FWD cargo door correctly (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
     (c) Make sure that the access panel 134AR of the control panel is closed.
   (2) FOR [2504MJ] (MAN SEL VALVE-AFT CARGO DOOR)
     (a) Install the applicable floor panel in the aft cargo compartment between FR56 and FR57 (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-400-001).
     (b) Close and lock the aft cargo door correctly (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
     (c) Make sure that the access panel 154AR of the control panel is closed.
   (3) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
Subtask 52-36-15-410-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access

   (1) FOR [2501MJ] (MAN SEL VALVE-FWD CARGO DOOR)
     (a) Install the applicable floor panel in the FWD cargo compartment between FR29 and FR30 (Ref. AMM TASK 53-22-14-400-001).
     (b) Close and lock the FWD cargo door correctly (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
     (c) Make sure that the access panel 134AR of the control panel is closed.
   (2) FOR [2504MJ] (MAN SEL VALVE-AFT CARGO DOOR)
     (a) Install the applicable floor panel in the aft cargo compartment between FR59 and FR60 (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-400-001).
     (b) Close and lock the aft cargo door correctly (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
     (c) Make sure that the access panel 154AR of the control panel is closed.
   (3) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
