Installation of the Hand Pump

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 52-36-11-860-052-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (2) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (3) Make sure that the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position.
   (5) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the power transfer unit is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
   (6) Make sure that a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is below the hydraulic connections of the hand pump to collect hydraulic fluid.

4. Procedure
Subtask 52-36-11-910-050-A
A. Preparation for the Installation
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
   (1) Remove the old sealant with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC from the attachment angle (3) and the ground service panel (15).
   (2) Examine the ground service panel (15) for minor damage and corrosion (Ref. AMM TASK 51-73-00-200-001).
   (3) Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) to the mating surface of the attachment angle (3).
   (4) Apply a layer of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the threads of the screws (1),(12).

C. Installation of the Hand Pump
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
CAUTION: YOU MUST INSTALL HYDRAULIC TUBES WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID AS LUBRICANT.
   (1) Put the hand pump (16) through the cutout of the ground service panel (15) in the position on the riveted angle (14).
   (2) Attach the hand pump (16) with the screws (12) and the washers (13) on the riveted angle (14).
   (3) Put the attachment angle (3) in position on the ground service panel (15) and attach it with the screws (1) and the washers (2).
   (4) Install the screws (1) and the washer (2) to attach the hand pump (16) on the attachment angle (3).
   (5) Make sure that the screws (1), (12) are correctly tightened.
   (6) TORQUE the plug (18) to between 1.9 and 1.7 m.daN (14.01 and 12.54 lbf.ft )
T.
   (7) Connect the suction line (8) to the hand pump (16) as follows:
     (a) TORQUE the union (10) to between 1.5 and 1.4 m.daN (11.06 and 10.32 lbf.ft )
T.
     (b) Remove the blanking caps from the open end of the suction line (8) and the union (10).
     (c) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
     (d) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.
02ABA1) to the threads of the line end-fittings.
     (e) Put the suction line (8) carefully on the union (10) and tighten the union nut (9) with your hand.
     (f) TORQUE the union nut (9) to between 1.3 and 1.2 m.daN (115.04 and 106.19 lbf.in ) T.
   (8) Connect the pressure line (7) on the hand pump (16) as follows:
     (a) TORQUE the union (5) to between 1.2 and 1.1 m.daN (106.19 and 97.35 lbf.in )
T.
     (b) Remove the blanking caps from the open end of the pressure line (7) and the union (5).
     (c) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
     (d) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.
02ABA1) to the threads of the line end-fittings.
     (e) Put the pressure line (7) carefully on the union (5) and tighten the union nut (6) with your hand.
     (f) TORQUE the union nut (6) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft ) T.

E. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

F. Operational Test
   (1) Open the FWD or AFT cargo door with the hand pump (16) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-003).
   (2) Close the FWD or AFT cargo door with the hand pump (16) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-004).
   (3) Examine the hydraulic connections of the hand pump and make sure that there are no leaks.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the container.
   (3) Make sure that the FWD or AFT cargo door is correctly closed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
   (4) Install the access panel 197AB.
   (5) Close the access door 198CB of the Yellow ground servive panel.
   (6) Remove the access platform(s).
