Removal of the Hand Pump
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in positon below the Yellow ground service panel.
(2) Open the access doors 198CB and 198DB.

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
(2) Depressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
(5) Disconnect the isolation coupling of the power transfer unit (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001) to prevent the possible pressurization of the Green hydraulic system.
(6) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the hydraulic connections of the hand pump to collect hydraulic fluid.
4. Procedure(1) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
(2) Depressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
- In the cockpit on the hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel,
- On the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(5) Disconnect the isolation coupling of the power transfer unit (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001) to prevent the possible pressurization of the Green hydraulic system.
(6) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the hydraulic connections of the hand pump to collect hydraulic fluid.

A. Removal of the Handpump
(2) Loosen the union nut (6) from the union (5) and disconnect carefully the pressure line (7) from the handpump (16).
(3) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(4) Remove the attachment angle (3) from the ground service panel (15) to avoid damage to the lockwire of the handpump (16):
(a) Remove the screws (1) and the washers (2) from the attachment angle (3).
(b) Remove the screws (19) and the washers (20) from the ground service panel (15).
(c) Remove the attachment angle (3) from the ground service panel (15).
(5) Remove the screws (12) and the washers (13) from the riveted angle (14).
(6) Carefully remove the handpump (16) through the cut out of the ground service panel (15).
(7) Disassemble the hand pump (16) as follows:
(a) Remove the plug (18) together with the O-ring (17) from the port B of the handpump (16)
(b) Remove and discard the O-ring (17) from the plug (18).
(c) Remove the union (10) together with the O-ring (11) from the port C of the handpump (16).
(d) Remove the union (5) together with the O-ring (4) from the port A of the handpump (16).
(e) Remove and discard the O-rings (4) and (11) from the unions (5) and (10).
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
(1) Loosen the union nut (9) from the union (10) and disconnect carefully the suction line (8) from the handpump (16). (2) Loosen the union nut (6) from the union (5) and disconnect carefully the pressure line (7) from the handpump (16).
(3) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(4) Remove the attachment angle (3) from the ground service panel (15) to avoid damage to the lockwire of the handpump (16):
(a) Remove the screws (1) and the washers (2) from the attachment angle (3).
(b) Remove the screws (19) and the washers (20) from the ground service panel (15).
(c) Remove the attachment angle (3) from the ground service panel (15).
(5) Remove the screws (12) and the washers (13) from the riveted angle (14).
(6) Carefully remove the handpump (16) through the cut out of the ground service panel (15).
(7) Disassemble the hand pump (16) as follows:
(a) Remove the plug (18) together with the O-ring (17) from the port B of the handpump (16)
(b) Remove and discard the O-ring (17) from the plug (18).
(c) Remove the union (10) together with the O-ring (11) from the port C of the handpump (16).
(d) Remove the union (5) together with the O-ring (4) from the port A of the handpump (16).
(e) Remove and discard the O-rings (4) and (11) from the unions (5) and (10).
