Removal of the Limit Switches


CAUTION: IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOU OPEN THE CARGO COMPARTMENT DOOR, RECORD ON THE WORK CARD ON THE DOOR, THE DATE AND TIME WHEN YOU OPENED IT. IF THE CARGO COMPARTMENT DOOR STAYS OPEN FOR 12 HOURS OR MORE, YOU MUST BLEED THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM RELATED TO IT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE PRECAUTIONS, THE DOOR CAN CLOSE SUDDENLY WHEN YOU SET THE DOOR TO "CLOSE". THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DOOR AND TO THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE.

A. Get Access
   (1) Open the FWD or AFT cargo-compartment door and install the actuator safety locks (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position for the applicable cargo compartment door.
   (3) Remove the ball strips and the ball mats to get access to the support assy of the limit switch (Ref. AMM TASK 25-52-22-000-001).

4. Procedure
Subtask 52-35-13-020-050-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Limit Switch 2508MJ or 2509MJ
   (1) Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the receptacle (1) below the cargo door area.
   (2) Put the blanking caps on the disconnected electrical connector (2) and on the receptacle (1).
   (3) Remove the nut (3), the washer (4) and the bolt (18) to disconnect the clamp (19) from the entrance guide.
   (4) Remove the screw (22), the washer (23), the spacers (24) and (25) to disconnect the clamp (21) from the structure bracket (26).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (5) Cut and remove the lockwire from the adjustment nut (7) and the lock nut (13).
   (6) Remove the lock nut (13) and the serrated washer (12) from the limit switch (6) to disconnect it from the support assy (9).
   (7) Remove the limit switch (6) from the support assy (9).
   (8) Remove the limit switch (6) together with the related cable harness (5), the adjustment nut (7), the lockwasher (8) and the conduit (20) from the door sill area.
