Removal of the Door Frame Fittings


WARNING: INSTALL A SAFETY BARRIER WHEN YOU OPEN A DOOR IF THE ACCESS PLATFORM IS NOT USED.
CAUTION: IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOU OPEN THE CARGO COMPARTMENT DOOR, RECORD ON THE WORK CARD ON THE DOOR, THE DATE AND TIME WHEN YOU OPENED IT. IF THE CARGO COMPARTMENT DOOR STAYS OPEN FOR 12 HOURS OR MORE, YOU MUST BLEED THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM RELATED TO IT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE PRECAUTIONS, THE DOOR CAN CLOSE SUDDENLY WHEN YOU SET THE DOOR TO "CLOSE". THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DOOR AND TO THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE.

B. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the bulk cargo-compartment door.
   (2) Open the bulk cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-006).
   (3) Release the quick-release fasteners and remove the sidewall panels 162BW and 162EW.
   (4) If necessary, remove the screws (21) and the washers (22) from the protection cover (20).
F Door Frame Fittings ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (5) Remove the protection cover (20) together with the plate (39) and the gasket (40) from the floor panel 162KF.
   (6) Remove the floor panels 162HF, 162GF, 162KF and 162LF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-22-14-000-001).
   (7) If necessary, disengage the disc fasteners and the hook and loop tapes to remove the insulation mats adjacent the bulk door frame.
4. Procedure
Subtask 52-33-32-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Door Frame Fittings
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) Remove the stop fitting (2) as follows:
     (a) Remove the nuts (1), the bolts (4),(5) and the washers (3) from the stop fitting (2).
     (b) Carefully disconnect the stop fitting (2) from the bulk door frame.
   (2) Remove the forward latch spigot (18) as follows:
     (a) Remove the nuts (10),(11), the bolts (16), (15) and the washers (14), (17) from the forward latch spigot (18).
     (b) Remove the forward latch spigot (18) and the serrated plate (13) from the serrated plate (12).
NOTE: The serrated plate (12) is riveted to the bulk door frame.
   (3) Remove the aft latch spigot (27) with the related proximity switch 50WV as follows:
     (a) Make sure that the protection cover (20) of the proximity switch 50WV is removed.
     (b) Disconnect the connector of the cable loom (26) from the proximity sensor (25).
     (c) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (4) Remove the nuts (28), (29), the bolts (37), (33) and the washers (32), (38) from the aft latch spigot (27).
   (5) Remove the aft latch spigot (27) and the serrated plate (31) from the serrated plate (30).
NOTE: The serrated plate (30) is riveted to the bulk door frame.
   (6) If necessary, disassemble the proximity switch 50WV from the aft latch spigot (27) as follows:
NOTE: The proximity switch 50WV includes the proximity sensor (25) and the proximity target (36).
     (a) Disconnect the lockwire and remove the nut (24) and the safety washer (23) from the proximity sensor (25).
     (b) Remove the proximity sensor (25) from the bracket of the aft latch spigot (27).
     (c) Release the lock washer (34) from the nut (35).
     (d) Remove the nut (35) and the lock washer (34) from the proximity target (36).
     (e) Discard the lock washer (34).
     (f) Remove the proximity target (36) from the lever of the aft latch spigot (27).
