Installation of the Latch and the Stop Fitting
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOU OPEN THE CARGO COMPARTMENT DOOR, RECORD ON THE WORK CARD ON THE DOOR, THE DATE AND TIME WHEN YOU OPENED IT. IF THE CARGO COMPARTMENT DOOR STAYS OPEN FOR 12 HOURS OR MORE, YOU MUST BLEED THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM RELATED TO IT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE PRECAUTIONS, THE DOOR CAN CLOSE SUDDENLY WHEN YOU SET THE DOOR TO "CLOSE". THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DOOR AND TO THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE.

Latch and Stop FittingSubtask 52-33-31-860-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aft cargo-compartment door is opened (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position below the bulk cargo-compartment door.
(3) Make sure that the lining and insulation of the bulk cargo-compartment door are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-33-13-000-001).
(4) Make sure that the bulk cargo-compartment door is opened (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-006).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the aft cargo-compartment door is opened (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position below the bulk cargo-compartment door.
(3) Make sure that the lining and insulation of the bulk cargo-compartment door are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-33-13-000-001).
(4) Make sure that the bulk cargo-compartment door is opened (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-006).
Subtask 52-33-31-910-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-33-11-200-001).
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-33-11-100-001).
(3) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the shanks of the bolts (1),(4).
(4) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the mating surface between the fitting assembly (7) and the Bulk door structure.
Subtask 52-33-31-420-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-33-11-200-001).
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(Ref. AMM TASK 52-33-11-100-001).
(3) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the shanks of the bolts (1),(4).
(4) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the mating surface between the fitting assembly (7) and the Bulk door structure.
B. Installation of the Stop Fitting
(1) Assemble the stop screw (5), the washer set (6) and the nut (8) on the fitting assembly (7).
(2) Put the fitting assembly (7) in position at the bulk door structure and attach it with the bolts (1) and (4) and the nuts (2) and (3).
(3) Apply a bead of Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) at the edge of the fitting assembly (7) and the BULK cargo-compartment door.
Subtask 52-33-31-820-051-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Assemble the stop screw (5), the washer set (6) and the nut (8) on the fitting assembly (7).
(2) Put the fitting assembly (7) in position at the bulk door structure and attach it with the bolts (1) and (4) and the nuts (2) and (3).
(3) Apply a bead of Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) at the edge of the fitting assembly (7) and the BULK cargo-compartment door.
C. Adjust the skin offset between the fuselage contour and the BULK cargo-compartment door correctly (Ref. AMM TASK 52-33-11-820-001).
5. Close-upSubtask 52-33-31-916-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Protective Treatments
(1) Apply a layer of Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) to the seal around the fitting assembly (7).
(2) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Oily Film System (Material No.12ABE2) to all exposed surfaces which you touched or moved.
Subtask 52-33-31-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Apply a layer of Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) to the seal around the fitting assembly (7).
(2) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Oily Film System (Material No.12ABE2) to all exposed surfaces which you touched or moved.
B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the bulk cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-008).
(3) Install the lining and insulation of the bulk cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-33-13-400-001).
(4) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the bulk cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-008).
(3) Install the lining and insulation of the bulk cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-33-13-400-001).
(4) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
