Removal of the Door Suspension


CAUTION: IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOU OPEN THE CARGO COMPARTMENT DOOR, RECORD ON THE WORK CARD ON THE DOOR, THE DATE AND TIME WHEN YOU OPENED IT. IF THE CARGO COMPARTMENT DOOR STAYS OPEN FOR 12 HOURS OR MORE, YOU MUST BLEED THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM RELATED TO IT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE PRECAUTIONS, THE DOOR CAN CLOSE SUDDENLY WHEN YOU SET THE DOOR TO "CLOSE". THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DOOR AND TO THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 52-33-12-010-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Get Access
   (1) Open the aft cargo-compartment door to get access to the bulk cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the bulk cargo-compartment door.
   (3) Remove the divider net between the aft/bulk cargo compartment at FR59.
   (4) Remove the door net from the opening of the bulk cargo-compartment door.
   (5) Remove the insulation packs from the fuselage around the forward and aft hinge frames.
   (6) Open the bulk cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-006).
4. Procedure
Subtask 52-33-12-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Door Suspension
F Door Suspension ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
NOTE: The procedure is the same for each hinge arm.
   (1) Remove the bulk door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-33-11-000-001).
   (2) Make match marks to record the position of the adjustment nut (11).
   (3) Remove and discard the cotter pin (15).
   (4) Remove the nut (14) and the washer (12).
   (5) Remove the adjustment nut (11).
   (6) Remove the nut (4), the bolt (1), and the bonding jumpers (5) and (2) from the bracket (13).
   (7) Remove the pivot pin (6) from the hinge arm (3) as follows:
     (a) Release the tabs of the lock washer (21).
     (b) Remove the screw (20) and the lock washer (21) from the bracket (22).
     (c) Remove and discard the lock washer (21) from the screw (20).
     (d) Remove the pivot pin (6) from the bracket (22).
   (8) Remove the hinge arm (3) from the bracket (22) and the bolt assembly (8).
   (9) Remove the plug (10) from the hinge arm (3).
   (10) If necessary, remove the nuts (7), the bolts (9) and the bolt assembly (8) from the door structure.
