3. Job Set-up
Subtask 52-33-11-010-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the bulk cargo-compartment door.
   (2) Open the bulk cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-006).
   (3) Remove the lining and insulation of the bulk cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-33-13-000-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 52-33-11-210-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Inspection of the Bulk Door Structure
   (1) Examine the liquid drain device on the lower beam to make sure that it is not blocked.
   (2) Examine all rivets of the hatch structure.
     (a) If you find an empty rivet hole, install a new rivet with the correct sealant.
     (b) If you find damaged or loose rivets, replace them.
   (3) Examine the sealant of all structure components for the correct condition. If necessary, remove the old sealant with wooden or plastic scraper and apply new sealant.
   (4) Make sure that all screws and bolts of the Bulk door structure are correctly tightened.
   (5) Make sure that the paint is in the correct condition (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-12-300-001).
   (6) Examine the bonding straps on the hinge arms and their attachments for the correct condition (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-200-001).

B. Inspection of the Locking and Balance Mechanism
   (1) Examine the door handle mechanism, the locking shaft and the latch assy of the locking mechanism for corrosion, marks and deformation:
   (2) Examine the pre-load unit, the torsion bar and the connection rod of the balance mechanism for corrosion, marks and deformation:
   (3) Examine the spring unit and the spring strut of the locking mechanism for the correct condition.

B. Inspection of the Locking and Balance Mechanism
   (1) Examine the door handle mechanism, the locking shaft and the latch assy of the locking mechanism for corrosion, marks and deformation:
   (2) Examine the wear strip on the door handle. Make sure that the height of the wear strip is more than the height of the door handle (on the opposite side of the door handle pushbutton):
   (3) Examine the pre-load unit, the torsion bar and the connection rod of the balance mechanism for corrosion, marks and deformation:
   (4) Examine the spring unit and the spring strut of the locking mechanism for the correct condition.
Subtask 52-33-11-210-062-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Inspection of the Door Seal, the Bulk Door Lining, and the Insulation
   (1) Make sure that the door seal has no cuts and is not worn.
   (2) Make sure that the door seal is correctly installed in the retaining channel of the bulk cargo-compartment door.
   (3) Make sure that the bulk cargo-compartment door lining is in the correct condition.
   (4) Examine the hook and loop tapes on the bulk cargo-compartment door structure and on the related components for the correct condition.
   (5) Examine the insulation packs for possible damage and replace them if necessary.
Subtask 52-33-11-710-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
D. Operational Test
   (1) Operate the internal and the external door handles to make sure that the locking mechanism is serviceable.
   (2) Open and close the Bulk door manually to make sure that the balance mechanism is serviceable.
5. Close-up
Subtask 52-33-11-410-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Make sure that the protective film on all internal surfaces and structures is in a good condition. Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Oily Film System (Material No.12ABE2) if necessary.
   (3) Install the lining and insulation of the bulk cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-33-13-400-001).
   (4) Close the bulk cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-008).
   (5) Remove the access platform(s).
