3. Job Set-up
Subtask 52-32-21-860-060-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position below the closed AFT cargo compartment door (referred to as cargo door).
   (2) Make sure that the locking handle is moved away from the recess of the handle flap but not in the UNLOCKED position.
   (3) Make sure that access panel 826AR is removed from the cargo door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-31-14-000-801).
4. Procedure
Subtask 52-32-21-910-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (4) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) to the bolt (23), the threaded pin of the shaft (18) and the mating surfaces of the support fitting (9).
Subtask 52-32-21-910-057-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (4) Apply the Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) to the bolts (10) and (23), and the mating surfaces of the support fitting (9) and the target lever (3).
Subtask 52-32-21-560-054-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Preparation of the Replacement Components
   (1) Make sure that there are new tab washers (371) on the link assembly (88).
   (2) If not, replace the tab washers (371) as follows:
     (a) Release the tab washers (371) from the jam nuts (372).
     (b) Remove the fork ends (95) and (99) from the connection rod (370).
     (c) Remove and discard the tab washers (371) from the connection rod (370).
     (d) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the threads of the connection rod (370).
     (e) Install the new AIPC 52-32-21-45-200 TAB WASHERS (371) and the fork ends (95) and (99) on the connection rod (370).
   (3) Make sure that the length between the fork ends (95) and (99) of the replacement link assembly (88) is as recorded in the removal procedure.

J. Adjustment of the Switch Mechanism
CAUTION: BEFORE YOU INSTALL/REMOVE THE GSE-TOOL, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE APPLICABLE GSE INSTRUCTION MANUAL. WHILE YOU OPERATE THIS TOOL, CAREFULLY OBEY THEM. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS, DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
   (1) Push the door handle in the recess of the door structure.
   (2) Use the
98D52308002000 CURVED SHIM to measure clearance J1 between the target (365) and the related proximity switch (373) of the door sill area.
NOTE: Clearance J1 must be between 1.0 mm (0.0394 in.) and 1.8 mm (0.0709 in.).
   (3) If clearance J1 is out of tolerance, adjust the proximity switch (373) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-00-820-003).
Subtask 52-32-21-820-058-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
J. Adjustment of the Switch Mechanism
CAUTION: BEFORE YOU INSTALL/REMOVE THE GSE-TOOL, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE APPLICABLE GSE INSTRUCTION MANUAL. WHILE YOU OPERATE THIS TOOL, CAREFULLY OBEY THEM. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS, DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
   (1) Push the door handle in the recess of the door structure.
   (2) Use the 98D52308002000 CURVED SHIM to measure clearance J1 between the target (4) and the related proximity switch (27) of the door sill area.
NOTE: Clearance J1 must be between 1.0 mm (0.0394 in.) and 1.8 mm (0.0709 in.).
   (3) If clearance J1 is out of tolerance, adjust the proximity switch (27) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-00-820-003).
5. Close-up
Subtask 52-32-21-410-059-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) to all the components of the switch mechanism and to the adjacent cargo door structure.
   (3) Install access panel 826AR on the cargo door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-31-14-400-801).
   (4) Make sure that the cargo door is correctly closed and the door handle is in the LOCKED position (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
   (5) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 52-32-21-410-059-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) to all the components of the switch mechanism and to the adjacent cargo door structure.
   (3) Install the access panels 826AR and 826BR and the door fairing 826CR on the cargo door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-33-400-001).
   (4) Make sure that the cargo door is correctly closed and the door handle is in the LOCKED position (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
   (5) Remove the access platform(s).
