CAUTION:
IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOU OPEN THE CARGO COMPARTMENT DOOR, RECORD ON THE WORK CARD ON THE DOOR, THE DATE AND TIME WHEN YOU OPENED IT. IF THE CARGO COMPARTMENT DOOR STAYS OPEN FOR 12 HOURS OR MORE, YOU MUST BLEED THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM RELATED TO IT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE PRECAUTIONS, THE DOOR CAN CLOSE SUDDENLY WHEN YOU SET THE DOOR TO "CLOSE". THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DOOR AND TO THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Open the AFT cargo-compartment door (referred to as cargo door) and install the actuator safety locks (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at the cargo door.
Subtask 52-32-11-865-065-A (1) Open the AFT cargo-compartment door (referred to as cargo door) and install the actuator safety locks (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at the cargo door.

(1) Remove the lining and insulation (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-13-000-001) to get access to the drift pin mechanism.
(2) Remove the access panel 826AR to get access to the latching mechanism.

C. Get Access
(1) Remove the lining and insulation (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-13-000-001) to get access to the drift pin mechanism.
(2) Remove the door fairing 826CR and the access panels 826AR and 826BR to get access to the latching mechanism door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-33-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) Remove the lining and insulation (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-13-000-001) to get access to the drift pin mechanism.
(2) Remove the door fairing 826CR and the access panels 826AR and 826BR to get access to the latching mechanism door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-33-000-001).

A. Adjustment of the Door Handle

(1) Measure the lateral dimension "A" between the door handle and the door structure.
(a) The lateral dimensions "A" must be between 1.0 mm (0.039 in.) and 3.0 mm (0.118 in.).
(2) If the lateral dimensions "A" are out of tolerance, change the position of the door handle as follows:
(a) Remove the screws (119) and (120), the washers (118) and the access panel (117) from the inner skin of the cargo door.
(b) Remove the screws (112) and lock device (113) from the door structure.
(c) Install a NUT - (NAS 509-4) on the spring bolt to keep the handle spring in position.
(d) Carefully remove the door handle shaft (114) and change the position and/or the quantity of the adjustment washers (115) and (116).
(e) Assemble the door handle shaft (114) and the adjustment washers (115) and (116) on the door structure.
(f) Make sure that the lateral dimensions "A" are correctly adjusted.
(g) Safety the door handle shaft (114) with the lock device (113) and the screws (112).
(h) Remove the NUT - (NAS 509-4) from the spring bolt.
(i) Put the access panel (117) in position to the inner skin and attach it with the washers (118), screws (119) and (120).
(3) Measure the offset "B" of the door handle.
(a) Make sure that the door handle is in line with the cargo door structure.
(b) The offset "B" can be between -1.0 mm (-0.04 in.) and 0.2 mm (0.01 in.).
(c) If the offset "B" is not in the limits, adjust it as follows:
1 Loosen the nut (111).
2 Turn the stop bolt (110) as necessary.
3 Tighten the nut (111).
4 Make sure that the offset "B" is correctly adjusted.

(d) Carefully remove the door handle shaft (114) and change the position and/or the quantity of the adjustment washers (115) and (116).
(e) Assemble the door handle shaft (114) and the adjustment washers (115) and (116) on the door structure.
(f) Make sure that the lateral dimensions "A" are correctly adjusted.
(g) Safety the door handle shaft (114) with the lock device (113) and the screws (112).
(h) Remove the NUT - (NAS 509-4) from the spring bolt.
(i) Put the access panel (117) in position to the inner skin and attach it with the washers (118), screws (119) and (120).
(3) Measure the offset "B" of the door handle.
(a) Make sure that the door handle is in line with the cargo door structure.
(b) The offset "B" can be between -1.0 mm (-0.04 in.) and 0.2 mm (0.01 in.).
(c) If the offset "B" is not in the limits, adjust it as follows:
1 Loosen the nut (111).
2 Turn the stop bolt (110) as necessary.
3 Tighten the nut (111).
4 Make sure that the offset "B" is correctly adjusted.
B. Adjustment of the Skin Offset at the Door Handle

(1) Measure skin offset C between the door handle (128) and the access panel (127).
(2) Make sure that skin offset C is between -1.0 mm (-0.0394 in.) and 0.0 mm (0 in.).
(3) Make sure that the door handle (128) goes more into the cargo door structure than the access panel (127).
(4) If skin offset C is not in the limits, adjust the position of the catch hook (125) as follows:
(a) Remove the screws (124), the washers (123), the catch hook (125) and the shim (126) from the structure fitting (121).
(b) Prepare the shim (126), as necessary, until skin offset C is correct.
(c) Install the catch hook (125) and the shim (126) together with the screws (124) and the washers (123) on the structure fitting (121).
(d) Tighten the screws (124).
(e) Make sure that skin offset C is correctly adjusted.

(3) Make sure that the door handle (128) goes more into the cargo door structure than the access panel (127).
(4) If skin offset C is not in the limits, adjust the position of the catch hook (125) as follows:
(a) Remove the screws (124), the washers (123), the catch hook (125) and the shim (126) from the structure fitting (121).
(b) Prepare the shim (126), as necessary, until skin offset C is correct.
(c) Install the catch hook (125) and the shim (126) together with the screws (124) and the washers (123) on the structure fitting (121).
(d) Tighten the screws (124).
(e) Make sure that skin offset C is correctly adjusted.
C. Adjustment of the Latching Mechanism

Adjustment of the Locking Mechanism ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(1) Move the latching units of the open cargo door to the locked condition as follows:
(a) Press the roller lever of the interlock mechanism outboard to release the blockage of the latching shaft.
(b) Move the door handle down to the locked position and push it into the recess of the door structure.
(2) Make sure that the door handle is in line with the door structure during this adjustment procedure.
(3) Install the rigging pin (144) into the rigging holes of the door frame and the shaft lever bolt (135). This makes sure that the upper dead center is correctly adjusted.
(b) Loosen the upper and lower jam nuts (132).
(c) Turn the turnbuckle (134) until you can install the rigging pin (144) into the shaft lever bolt (143).
(d) Tighten the jam nuts (132) and safety them with lockwire,14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - on the safety devices (133).
(5) Adjust the length of the link rod (139) as follows:
(a) If necessary, cut and remove the lockwire from the safety device (137).
(b) Loosen the upper and lower jam nuts (136).
(c) Turn the turnbuckle (138) until the back of the bellcrank (140) touches the stop bolt (143).
(d) Make sure that you can install the rigging pin (142) into the door frame and the bellcrank bolt (141).

(b) Move the door handle down to the locked position and push it into the recess of the door structure.
(2) Make sure that the door handle is in line with the door structure during this adjustment procedure.
(3) Install the rigging pin (144) into the rigging holes of the door frame and the shaft lever bolt (135). This makes sure that the upper dead center is correctly adjusted.
NOTE: The rigging pin 98D52307525200 (144) is part of the 98D52307525000 TOOL-ADJUSTMENT,CARGO DOORS.
(4) If you cannot install the rigging pin (144) into the shaft lever bolt (135), adjust the length of the connection rod (131) as follows: WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) If necessary, cut and remove the lockwire from the safety devices (133). (b) Loosen the upper and lower jam nuts (132).
(c) Turn the turnbuckle (134) until you can install the rigging pin (144) into the shaft lever bolt (143).
(d) Tighten the jam nuts (132) and safety them with lockwire,
(5) Adjust the length of the link rod (139) as follows:
(a) If necessary, cut and remove the lockwire from the safety device (137).
(b) Loosen the upper and lower jam nuts (136).
(c) Turn the turnbuckle (138) until the back of the bellcrank (140) touches the stop bolt (143).
(d) Make sure that you can install the rigging pin (142) into the door frame and the bellcrank bolt (141).
NOTE: The rigging pin 98D52307525100 (142) is part of the 98D52307525000 TOOL-ADJUSTMENT,CARGO DOORS.

(a) The dimension "C" must be more than 2.0 mm (0.079 in.).
(3) If the dimension is out of tolerance, adjust the control rod (151) as follows:
(b) Loosen the upper and lower jam nuts (152).
(c) Turn the turnbuckle (154) until the dimension is correct.
(d) Tighten the jam nuts (152) and safety them with14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - on the safety devices (153).

(2) Install the 98D52308308000 PIN-RIGGING, CARGO COMPARTMENT DOOR (165) into the bearing assy (164) and the shaft lever (162).
(3) If you cannot install the 98D52308308000 PIN-RIGGING, CARGO COMPARTMENT DOOR (165) into the shaft lever (162), adjust the length of the control rod (166) as follows:
(a) If necessary, cut and remove the lockwire from the safety device (169).
(b) Loosen the upper and lower jam nuts (168).
(c) Turn the turnbuckle (167) until you can install the rigging pin (165) into shaft lever (162).
(d) Tighten the jam nuts (168) and safety them with14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - on the safety devices (169).
(4) Measure the distance "U" between the end of the extended drift pins (160) and the edge members of the cargo door.
(6) Make sure that the ends of the retracted drift pins are behind the skin edges of the cargo doors.

Adjustment of the Drift Pin Mechanism ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(1) Extend the drift pins on the open cargo door as follows: (a) Press the roller lever of the interlock mechanism outboard to release the blockage of the latching shaft.
(b) Move the door handle down to the locked position and push it into the recess of the door structure.
(2) Install the 98D52308308000 PIN-RIGGING, CARGO COMPARTMENT DOOR (165) into the bearing assy (164) and the shaft lever (162).
(3) If you cannot install the 98D52308308000 PIN-RIGGING, CARGO COMPARTMENT DOOR (165) into the shaft lever (162), adjust the length of the control rod (166) as follows:
(a) If necessary, cut and remove the lockwire from the safety device (169).
(b) Loosen the upper and lower jam nuts (168).
(c) Turn the turnbuckle (167) until you can install the rigging pin (165) into shaft lever (162).
(d) Tighten the jam nuts (168) and safety them with
(4) Measure the distance "U" between the end of the extended drift pins (160) and the edge members of the cargo door.
NOTE: The distance "U" must be between 34.7 mm (1.366 in.) and 37.7 mm (1.4843 in.).
(5) Move the door handle away from the door structure up to the 65 degree position. (6) Make sure that the ends of the retracted drift pins are behind the skin edges of the cargo doors.
F. Adjustment of the Interlock Mechanism
(1) Make sure that the door handle of the opened cargo door is in the fully UNLOCKED position.
(2) Measure the dimension "Z" between the stop assy (173) and the interlock cam (171) of the latching shaft.
(a) The dimension "Z" must be between 1.0 mm (0.039 in.) and 1.4 mm (0.055 in.).
(3) Adjust the dimension "Z" as follows:
(a) If necessary, bend the tab washer (176) from the lock nut (175).
(b) Loosen the lock nut (175) remove the stop bolt (174) from the interlock lever (172).
(c) Replace the tab washer (176) and install it with the stop bolt (174) and the lock nut (175) on the interlock lever (172).
(d) Turn the stop bolt (174) in or out until the dimension "Z" is correct.
(e) Tighten the lock nut (175) correctly and safety it with the new tab washer (176).
Subtask 52-32-11-820-060-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the door handle of the opened cargo door is in the fully UNLOCKED position.
(2) Measure the dimension "Z" between the stop assy (173) and the interlock cam (171) of the latching shaft.
(a) The dimension "Z" must be between 1.0 mm (0.039 in.) and 1.4 mm (0.055 in.).
(3) Adjust the dimension "Z" as follows:
(a) If necessary, bend the tab washer (176) from the lock nut (175).
(b) Loosen the lock nut (175) remove the stop bolt (174) from the interlock lever (172).
(c) Replace the tab washer (176) and install it with the stop bolt (174) and the lock nut (175) on the interlock lever (172).
(d) Turn the stop bolt (174) in or out until the dimension "Z" is correct.
(e) Tighten the lock nut (175) correctly and safety it with the new tab washer (176).
F. Adjustment of the Interlock Mechanism
(1) Make sure that the door handle of the opened cargo door is in the fully isLOCKED position.
(2) Measure the dimension "Z" between the stop assembly (3) of the interlock lever (2) and the interlock cam (1) of the latching shaft.
(a) Make sure that the dimension "Z" is between 1.0 mm (0.039 in.) 1.4 mm (0.055 in.).
(3) Adjust the dimension "Z" as follows:
(a) If necessary, bend the lock plate (6) to release the lock nut (5).
(b) Remove the adjusting screw (4) together with the lock nut (5) and the lock plate (6) from the interlock lever (2).
(c) Remove the lock plate (6) from the adjusting screw (4).
(d) Install the adjusting screw (4) together with the lock nut (5) and the new AIPC 52-32-21-39-400 LOCK PLATE (6) or the new AIPC 52-32-84-46-400 LOCK PLATE (6) in the interlock lever (2).
(e) Turn the adjusting screw (4) in or out until the clearance "Z" is correct.
(f) Tighten the lock nut (5) correctly and safety it with the lock plate (6).
Subtask 52-32-11-720-050-A (1) Make sure that the door handle of the opened cargo door is in the fully isLOCKED position.
(2) Measure the dimension "Z" between the stop assembly (3) of the interlock lever (2) and the interlock cam (1) of the latching shaft.
(a) Make sure that the dimension "Z" is between 1.0 mm (0.039 in.) 1.4 mm (0.055 in.).
(3) Adjust the dimension "Z" as follows:
(a) If necessary, bend the lock plate (6) to release the lock nut (5).
(b) Remove the adjusting screw (4) together with the lock nut (5) and the lock plate (6) from the interlock lever (2).
(c) Remove the lock plate (6) from the adjusting screw (4).
(d) Install the adjusting screw (4) together with the lock nut (5) and the new AIPC 52-32-21-39-400 LOCK PLATE (6) or the new AIPC 52-32-84-46-400 LOCK PLATE (6) in the interlock lever (2).
(e) Turn the adjusting screw (4) in or out until the clearance "Z" is correct.
(f) Tighten the lock nut (5) correctly and safety it with the lock plate (6).
G. Do the functional test to make sure that the door locking mechanism operates satisfactory (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-00-720-001).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the access panel 826AR on the cargo door.
(3) Install the lining and insulation on the cargo door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-13-400-001).

(2) Install the access panel 826AR on the cargo door.
(3) Install the lining and insulation on the cargo door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-13-400-001).
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the access panels 826AR and 826BR and the door fairing 826CR on the cargo door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-33-400-001).
(3) Install the lining and insulation on the cargo door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-13-400-001).
Subtask 52-32-11-865-066-A (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the access panels 826AR and 826BR and the door fairing 826CR on the cargo door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-33-400-001).
(3) Install the lining and insulation on the cargo door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-32-13-400-001).
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
