Removal of the Cargo-Compartment Door Support-Struts
CAUTION:
IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOU OPEN THE CARGO COMPARTMENT DOOR, RECORD ON THE WORK CARD ON THE DOOR, THE DATE AND TIME WHEN YOU OPENED IT. IF THE CARGO COMPARTMENT DOOR STAYS OPEN FOR 12 HOURS OR MORE, YOU MUST BLEED THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM RELATED TO IT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE PRECAUTIONS, THE DOOR CAN CLOSE SUDDENLY WHEN YOU SET THE DOOR TO "CLOSE". THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DOOR AND TO THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE.
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU OPEN AND CLOSE THE CARGO DOORS, MAKE SURE THAT THE ACCESS PLATFORM IS AT THE CORRECT HEIGHT. IF IT IS TOO HIGH, IT WILL PREVENT FREE MOVEMENT OF THE DOORS.
1. Reason for the JobNOTE: This procedure gives the instructions necessary to remove the cargo-compartment door support-struts (referred to in this procedure as "support struts") from the forward or aft cargo-compartment door, between the door frame and the door.

(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position below the open forward or aft cargo-compartment door.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position below the open forward or aft cargo-compartment door.

A. Removal of the Cargo-Compartment Door Support-Struts
(2) Remove the support strut (5) from the fuselage frame (7) and the cargo compartment door (1) as follows:
(a) Remove the pin (3) from the hole (2) in the cargo compartment door (1).
(b) Remove the pin (6) from the hole (8) in the fuselage frame (7).
(c) Remove the support strut (5).
5. Close-upNOTE: The procedure to remove the two support struts from each cargo compartment door is the same.
(1) Make sure that there is no load on the 98D52308003000 STRUT-SUPPORT,CC-DOOR (5).(2) Remove the support strut (5) from the fuselage frame (7) and the cargo compartment door (1) as follows:
(a) Remove the pin (3) from the hole (2) in the cargo compartment door (1).
(b) Remove the pin (6) from the hole (8) in the fuselage frame (7).
(c) Remove the support strut (5).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the forward or aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
