A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that applicable overwing emergency-exit door 833 ( 843) or 834 ( 844) is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-802).
(3) Make sure that the lining of the overwing emergency-exit door is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-803).
(4) Make sure that the applicable insulation is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-000-001).
Subtask 52-22-81-865-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that applicable overwing emergency-exit door 833 ( 843) or 834 ( 844) is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-802).
(3) Make sure that the lining of the overwing emergency-exit door is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-803).
(4) Make sure that the applicable insulation is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-000-001).
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

(2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

A. Installation of the Slide Release Mechanism
(1) Installation of the shaft lever (1):
(a) Install the shaft lever (1) in the structure (2).
(b) Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) on the mating surfaces between the locking plate (9) and the structure (2).
(c) Put the locking plate (9) in the correct position.
(d) Install the bolt (10) soaked in Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) , the washer (8) and the nut (7).
(e) Tighten the nut (7).
(f) Make sure that the shaft lever (1) can easily turn.
(2) Installation of the rod (16):
(a) Put the rod (16) in position at the lever assembly (29).
(b) Install the bolts (11) and (17) and the washers (12) and (18).
(c) Install the washers (13) and (19) and the nuts (14) and (20).
(d) Tighten the nuts (14) and (20).
(e) Safety the nuts (14) and (20) with the new AIPC 52-21-11-80-080 COTTER PIN (15) and the new AIPC 52-21-11-80-080 COTTER PIN (21).
(3) Installation of the shaft (27):
(b) Installation of the spring (28) in the shaft lever (1):
1 Put on the GOGGLES - PROTECTIVE when you install the spring.
2 Install the spring (28) in the shaft lever (1).
(d) Installation of the target (26) on the lever (25):
1 Clean the mating surfaces between the lever (25) and the target (26) with Non Aqueous Cleaner_- Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone - (Material No.08BBF1) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
2 Install the new AIPC 52-71-84-15-030 LOCK WASHER (30) and the nut (31) on the target (26).
3 Apply a layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-General Purpose MoS2 Thickened - (Material No.03FBD1) on the thread of the target (26).
4 Install the target (26), the nut (31) and the lock washer (30) on the lever (25).
5 Do the adjustment of the target (26) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-00-820-805).
(e) Put the levers (3) and (25) in the correct position.
(f) Install the washers (4) and (24) and the nuts (5) and (23) on the end of the shaft (27).
(g) Tighten the nuts (5) and (23).
(h) Safety the nuts (5) and (23) with the new AIPC 52-21-11-80-010 COTTER PIN (6) and the new AIPC 52-21-11-80-010 COTTER PIN (22).
Subtask 52-22-81-820-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Installation of the shaft lever (1):
(a) Install the shaft lever (1) in the structure (2).
(b) Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) on the mating surfaces between the locking plate (9) and the structure (2).
(c) Put the locking plate (9) in the correct position.
(d) Install the bolt (10) soaked in Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) , the washer (8) and the nut (7).
(e) Tighten the nut (7).
(f) Make sure that the shaft lever (1) can easily turn.
(2) Installation of the rod (16):
(a) Put the rod (16) in position at the lever assembly (29).
(b) Install the bolts (11) and (17) and the washers (12) and (18).
(c) Install the washers (13) and (19) and the nuts (14) and (20).
(d) Tighten the nuts (14) and (20).
(e) Safety the nuts (14) and (20) with the new AIPC 52-21-11-80-080 COTTER PIN (15) and the new AIPC 52-21-11-80-080 COTTER PIN (21).
(3) Installation of the shaft (27):
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL THE SPRING. THE TENSION IN THE SPRING CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(a) Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) on the two ends with thread of the shaft (27). (b) Installation of the spring (28) in the shaft lever (1):
1 Put on the GOGGLES - PROTECTIVE when you install the spring.
2 Install the spring (28) in the shaft lever (1).
NOTE: There is a risk to lose the spring.
(c) Install the shaft (27) in the shaft lever (1). (d) Installation of the target (26) on the lever (25):
1 Clean the mating surfaces between the lever (25) and the target (26) with Non Aqueous Cleaner_- Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone - (Material No.08BBF1) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
2 Install the new AIPC 52-71-84-15-030 LOCK WASHER (30) and the nut (31) on the target (26).
3 Apply a layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-General Purpose MoS2 Thickened - (Material No.03FBD1) on the thread of the target (26).
4 Install the target (26), the nut (31) and the lock washer (30) on the lever (25).
5 Do the adjustment of the target (26) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-00-820-805).
(e) Put the levers (3) and (25) in the correct position.
(f) Install the washers (4) and (24) and the nuts (5) and (23) on the end of the shaft (27).
(g) Tighten the nuts (5) and (23).
(h) Safety the nuts (5) and (23) with the new AIPC 52-21-11-80-010 COTTER PIN (6) and the new AIPC 52-21-11-80-010 COTTER PIN (22).
B. Adjustment of the Overwing Emergency-Exit Door
(1) Do the adjustment of the proximity switches (Ref. AMM TASK 52-71-00-820-805).
(2) Do the adjustment of the slide release mechanism (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-820-802).

- The nuts (5) and (23) are safetied with the cotter pins (6) and (22).
- The nuts (14) and (20) are safetied with the cotter pins (15) and (21).
- The spring (28) is installed in the shaft lever (1).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the overwing emergency-exit door is disarmed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-710-802).
(2) Close the overwing emergency-exit door from the passenger compartment side (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-802).
(3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(4) Install the removed insulation (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-400-001).
(5) Make sure that the overwing door is armed (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-710-802).
(6) Install the lining of the overwing emergency-exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-803).
(7) Obey the special precautions after you work on the offwing escape-slide systems (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-00-081-001).
