Set the AFT OWD Handle Back to the Closed Position
WARNING:
WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE OVERWING EMERGENCY DOOR, BE CAREFUL NOT TO PULL THE OWD HANDLE. THIS PREVENTS SUDDEN MOVEMENT OF THE DOOR AND ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT OF THE EMERGENCY SLIDE. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
1. Reason for the JobRefer to the MPD TASK: 522101-06
SET THE AFT OWD HANDLE BACK TO THE CLOSED POSITION.
NOTE: You must do this procedure for the two activated overwing emergency exit-doors during the same maintenance check.
NOTE: This task is not applicable for the deactivated overwing emergency exit-doors.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

B. Get Access
(1) Remove the handle cover (2) of the overwing emergency exit-door (1).
4. Procedure(1) Remove the handle cover (2) of the overwing emergency exit-door (1).

A. Set the Aft handle back to the closed position
(1) Push the inboard handle assembly (3).
(2) Make sure that the over-centering mechanism (4) touches the mechanical end stop (5).
5. Close-up(1) Push the inboard handle assembly (3).
(2) Make sure that the over-centering mechanism (4) touches the mechanical end stop (5).

A. Close access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the handle cover (2) on the overwing emergency exit-door (1).
