Subtask 52-22-00-860-119-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (3) Make sure that applicable overwing emergency-exit door 833 ( 843) or 834 ( 844) is closed, latched and locked (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-802).
   (4) Make sure that the windshield is deactivated (Ref. AMM TASK 56-10-00-040-001).
   (5) On panel 20VU, on the ADIRS MSU, set the OFF/NAV/ATT selector switches to the NAV position (Ref. AMM TASK 34-10-00-860-002).
   (6) On panel 25VU:
  • Make sure that the PROBE/WINDOW HEAT pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).

D. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at access door 824.
   (2) Open access door 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).
   (3) Obey the special precautions before you start the work on the offwing escape-slide systems (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-00-481-001).
   (4) Remove the handle cover (2) of the overwing emergency-exit door (1).
NOTE: The white SLIDE ARMED indicator light in the cabin lining between the overwing emergency-exit doors comes on.
NOTE: In the cockpit, on the "DOOR/OXY" page of the ECAM DU, the symbol of the related overwing emergency-exit door changes from the green empty box to the amber filled box as soon as the handle cover (2) is removed.
   (5) Put the slide release shaft in the DISARMED position:
NOTE: The white SLIDE ARMED indicator light goes off only when the unlock levers (8) of the forward and aft overwing emergency-exit-doors (1) are in the disarmed position.
     (a) For overwing emergency-exit door 833( 843) (1):
  • Pull the lever (8) to the right and turn it clockwise until the lever (8) is behind the disarm bracket (7).
  • Make sure that the slide release lever (6) is not in the front of the fuselage lever (5).
     (b) For overwing emergency-exit door 834( 844) (1):
  • Pull the lever (8) to the left and turn it counterclockwise until the lever (8) is behind the disarm bracket (7).
  • Make sure that the slide release lever (6) is not in the front of the fuselage lever (5).

NOTE: Circuit breaker 48WV is mentioned for FLA alerts on ECAM DU.

NOTE: When this page goes out of view, the real data received by the EIU shows the operational output status (usually status 0) because the engines are off.
  • Push the line key adjacent to FLIGHT LOCK DOORS to set the EIU1 output to active.
  • Status 1 comes into view.
2.In the avionics compartment, on FLA test panel 72VU:
On the overwing emergency-exit doors:
  • Open the protection guard and set toggle switch LH to the ON position.

  • Make sure that the toggle switch RH is set to the AUTO position.
  • The FLAs of the forward and aft overwing emergency-exit-doors from the left side engage.
CAUTION: IF OR WHEN THE VENT FLAP STARTS TO OPEN, IMMEDIATELY STOP MOVEMENT OF THE OVERWING EMERGENCY-EXIT-DOOR HANDLE. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
3.On each overwing emergency-exit door:
On the overwing emergency-exit doors:
  • Carefully try to pull the door handle (3) to open it.
NOTE: The forward and aft overwing emergency-exit-doors from the left side are locked and from the right side are unlocked.

  • Stop when the vent flap (4) starts to move.

NOTE: This is to see if the door handle (3) is blocked or not.
  • The door handles (3) of the forward and aft overwing emergency-exit-doors from the left side are blocked (the related vent flaps (4) do not open).

  • The door handles (3) of the forward and aft overwing emergency-exit-doors from the right side are not blocked (the related vent flaps (4) start to open).
4.On panel 121VU:
On the ECAM DU:
  • Open circuit breaker 48WV.
  • Four FLA alerts come into view after three seconds:

- "DOOR L FWD OVERWNG FAULT"

- Sub-Title: "FLIGHT LOCK NOT AVAIL".

- "DOOR L AFT OVERWNG FAULT"

- Sub-Title: "FLIGHT LOCK NOT AVAIL".

- "DOOR R FWD OVERWNG FAULT"

- Sub-Title: "FLIGHT LOCK ENGAGED".

- "DOOR R AFT OVERWNG FAULT"

- Sub-Title: "FLIGHT LOCK ENGAGED".

13.In the avionics compartment, on FLA test panel 72VU:

  • Set the toggle switch RH to the AUTO position.

  • Make sure that the toggle switch LH is in the AUTO position.

14.On panel 49VU:

  • Open circuit breaker 1GA.

15.On panel 121VU:

  • Open circuit breakers 2GA, 52GA, 58GA and 59GA.

  • Wait for 20 seconds.
  • The SYSTEM REPORT/TEST page goes out of view.
16.In the cockpit:
On the ECAM DU:
  • The FWC waits for the FLA command signals to become active.

  • Wait for 70 seconds.

NOTE: This is the necessary time for the FWC to collect and lock the FLA alerts.
  • No FLA alerts come into view.
17.On panel 49VU:
On the MCDU:
  • Close circuit breaker 1GA.

18.On panel 121VU:

  • Close circuit breakers 2GA, 52GA, 58GA and 59GA.

  • Wait for 10 seconds.
  • The SYSTEM REPORT/TEST page comes into view.

On the ECAM DU:

  • Four FLA alerts come into view:

- "DOOR L FWD OVERWNG FAULT"

- Sub-Title: "FLIGHT LOCK CTL FAULT".

- "DOOR L AFT OVERWNG FAULT"

- Sub-Title: "FLIGHT LOCK CTL FAULT".

- "DOOR R FWD OVERWNG FAULT"

B. Close Access
WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR IN THIS POSITION TO PREVENT EMERGENCY ESCAPE SLIDE DEPLOYMENT. ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT OF THE EMERGENCY ESCAPE SLIDE CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Put the slide release shaft in the ARMED position:
     (a) For overwing emergency-exit door 833( 843) (1):
  • Pull the lever (8) to the right and turn it counterclockwise until the lever (8) is released from the disarm bracket (7).
  • Make sure that the release shaft clutch engages and the slide release lever (6) is in front of the fuselage lever (5).
     (b) For overwing emergency-exit door 834( 844) (1):
  • Pull the lever (8) to the left and turn it clockwise until the lever (8) is released from the disarm bracket (7).
  • Make sure that the release shaft clutch engages and the slide release lever (6) is in front of the fuselage lever (5).
   (2) Install the handle cover (2) on the overwing emergency-exit door (1).
NOTE: The white SLIDE ARMED indicator light in the cabin lining between the overwing emergency-exit doors goes off when the handle covers (2) of the two active overwing emergency-exit doors on one side are installed.
NOTE: In the cockpit, on the "DOOR/OXY" page of the ECAM DU, the symbol of the related overwing emergency-exit door changes from the amber filled box to the green empty box.
   (3) Obey the special precautions after you completed the work on the offwing escape-slide systems (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-00-081-001).
   (4) Close access door 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
   (5) Remove the access platform(s).
