3. Procedure
Subtask 52-22-00-710-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Operational Test of the Door Mechanism from the Inner Side
(1) Make sure that the applicable emergency exit door is closed and the slide control handle is in the armed position (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-001).
(2) Do this test to examine the door locking/unlocking from the inner side.

Operation of the Emergency Exit Door ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

ACTION	RESULT
1. Pull up the slide control handle and install the 98A52107632000 PIN - SAFETY SLIDE	The green "DISARMED" indication comes into view in the indication window and the escape slide-release mechanism is set to off.
2. Open the handle cover and pull up the inboard handle to the OPEN position.	The red "UNLOCKED" indication comes into view in the locking indication window and the door moves up.
3. Use the assist handle and push the door with force outboard to the fully open position.	The door moves with a constant speed outboard and forward parallel to the fuselage until the door damper stops its movement.
4. Try to move the door rearwards.	The door stay mechanism blocks the door.
5. Push and hold the release button at the support arm.	The door stay mechanism releases.
6. Pull the door with the assist handle rearward until the door is in front of the opening.	The door moves with a constant speed rearward parallel to the fuselage.
7. Remove the 98A52107632000 PIN - SAFETY SLIDE and try to push down the slide control handle.	The movement of the slide control handle is blocked.
8. Install the 98A52107632000 PIN - SAFETY SLIDE.
9. Try to pull down the inboard handle while the door is open.	The movement of the inboard handle is blocked and the door does not move down.
10. Pull the door with the assist handle fully inboard.	The door moves until it is in the correct position at the fuselage opening.
11. Push down the inboard handle and close the handle cover.	The door moves down into the fuselage opening and the green "LOCKED" indication comes into view in the locking indication window.
12. Remove the 98A52107632000 PIN - SAFETY SLIDE and push down the slide control handle.	The red "ARMED" indication comes into view in the indication window and the escape slide-release mechanism is prepared for operation.

A. Operational Test of the Door Mechanism from the Inner Side

Operation of the Emergency Exit Door ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

ACTION	RESULT
1. Open the protection cover and pull up the slide control handle.	The green "DISARMED" indication comes into view in the indication window and the escape slide-release mechanism is set to off.
2. Install the 98A52107632000 PIN - SAFETY SLIDE.	The escape slide-release mechanism is safetied in the DISARMED mode.
3. Open the handle cover and pull up the inboard handle to the OPEN position.	The red "UNLOCKED" indication comes into view in the locking indication window and the door moves up.
4. Use the assist handle and push the door with force outboard to the fully open position.	The door moves with a constant speed outboard and forward parallel to the fuselage until the door damper stops its movement.
5. Try to move the door rearwards.	The door stay mechanism blocks the door.
6. Push and hold the release button at the support arm.	The door stay mechanism releases.
7. Pull the door with the assist handle rearward until the door is in front of the opening.	The door moves with a constant speed rearward parallel to the fuselage.
8. Remove the 98A52107632000 PIN - SAFETY SLIDE and try to push down the slide control handle.	The movement of the slide control handle is blocked.
9. Install the 98A52107632000 PIN - SAFETY SLIDE.
10. Try to pull down the inboard handle while the door is open.	The movement of the inboard handle is blocked and the door does not move down.
11. Pull the door with the assist handle fully inboard.	The door moves until it is in the correct position at the fuselage opening.
12. Push down the inboard handle and close the handle cover.	The door moves down into the fuselage opening and the green "LOCKED" indication comes into view in the locking indication window.
13. Remove the 98A52107632000 PIN - SAFETY SLIDE and push down the slide control handle.	The red "ARMED" indication comes into view in the indication window and the escape slide-release mechanism is prepared for operation.
14. Close the protection cover.	The slide control handle is safetied for accidental operation.

Subtask 52-22-00-720-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

B. Functional Test of the Hand Force
(1) Make sure that the special precaution procedure for the door damper and emergency operation cylinder is done (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-003).
(2) Make sure that the applicable door is closed and the slide control handle is in the disarmed position (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-001).
(3) Make sure that the 98A52107632000 PIN - SAFETY SLIDE is installed.
(4) Put a DYNAMOMETER 20 DAN (45 LBF) - PULL in position on the inboard handle. Make sure that the DYNAMOMETER 20 DAN (45 LBF) - PULL is always at a right angle with the inboard handle during the complete test.
(5) Do this test to make sure that the hand force on the inboard handle is satisfactory during the door operation.

ACTION	RESULT
1. Slowly operate the inboard handle up and measure the force which is necessary to open the door.	The force must be less than 15.0 daN (33.7213 lbf).
2. Slowly operate the inboard handle down and measure the force which is necessary to close the door.	The force must be less than 15.0 daN (33.7213 lbf).
3. Measure the difference between the "open" and "close" force.	The difference must be less than 5.0 daN (11.2404 lbf).

(6) Make sure that the applicable door is closed and the slide control handle is in the armed position (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-001).

C. Operational Test of the Door Mechanism from the Outer Side

NOTE: Two persons are necessary for this procedure. One person outside and one person inside the cabin.

WARNING: STOP THE OPENING PROCEDURE IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES. IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES, REMAINING PRESSURE CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO OPEN SUDDENLY AND CAN:

KILL OR CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO PERSONS
CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

(1) Make sure that the applicable emergency exit door is closed and the slide control handle is in the armed position (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-001).
(2) Look through the door window to make sure that the red "CABIN PRESSURE" warning light does not flash.
(3) Do this test to examine the door locking/unlocking from the outer side and the automatic disarming of the escape-slide release mechanism:

ACTION	RESULT
1. Push the handle flap in and pull the outboard handle away from the door skin.	The slide control handle moves automatically and: The green "DISARMED" indication comes into view in the indication window The escape slide-release mechanism is set to off.
2. Fully lift the outboard handle until it is level with the green horizontal line at the door skin.	The door comes free from the fuselage opening and moves up.
3. Pull the door outboard and move it in the forward direction.	The door moves outboard and forward parallel to the fuselage until the door damper stops its movement.
4. Push and hold the release button at the support arm.	The door stay mechanism releases the door.
5. Pull the door rearward and push it inboard.	The door moves until it is in the correct position at the fuselage opening.
6. Push down the outboard handle in the recess of the door skin.	The door moves down into the fuselage opening.

D. Operational Test of the Door Damping Mechanism
(1) Open the applicable emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-001).
(2) Do the special precaution before you start the test (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-003).
(3) Do this test to examine the damping function of the door damper and emergency operation cylinder (referred to as door damper):

ACTION	RESULT
1. Push and hold the release button at the support arm.	The door stay mechanism releases.
2. Use the assist handle and pull the door rearward until the door is in its closing positon.	The door moves with a constant speed rearward parallel to the fuselage.
	You can feel the door damping function because the speed decreases when the door moves into its opening.
	Make sure there is no hard hit on the door stop fittings at the end of the door travel.
3. Wait for 30 seconds before you do the next step.	The damping device of the door damper becomes stable.
4. Use the assist handle and push the door with force outboard to the fully open position.	The door moves with a constant speed outboard and forward parallel to the fuselage.
	You can feel the door damping function because the speed decreases when the door is at the end of the travel.
	Make sure there is no hard hit between the door buffer and the fuselage.

(4) Do the special precaution when you finish this test (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-004).
(5) Close the applicable emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-001).
