3. Job Set-up
Subtask 52-22-00-860-095-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
F Overwing Emergency-Exit Door ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (3) On the ECAM control panel, push the DOOR key.
     (a) On the lower ECAM Display Unit, the DOOR/OXY page comes into view.
   (4) Do the special precautions before work on the offwing escape-slide systems (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-00-481-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 52-22-00-410-068-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Closing of the Overwing Emergency-Exit Door
WARNING: YOU MUST PUT ON AND ATTACH A SAFETY HARNESS BEFORE YOU START WORK:
  • ON THE THS OR IN THE REAR FUSELAGE
  • ON TOP OF THE WINGS OR PYLONS.
WITHOUT A SAFETY HARNESS, YOU CAN FALL. THIS CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY.
   (1) Make sure that the panel (18) is in the open position.
   (2) Make sure that the 98D52208001000 SLING-CLOSURE,OWE is attached to the eye strap (3) of the overwing emergency-exit door (1).
   (3) Pull the 98D52208001000 SLING-CLOSURE,OWE until the latch rollers (5) engage in the latch hooks (4) and the overwing emergency-exit door (1) is closed.
NOTE: Two persons are necessary to close the door:
  • One person holds the door in the closed position with the 98D52208001000 SLING-CLOSURE,OWE.
  • The second person fully pushes the inboard handle assembly (6) up until the vent flap assembly (7) is closed and the door is latched and locked.
   (4) Make sure that the over-centering mechanism (8) touches the mechanical end stop (9).
   (5) Make sure that the black arrows (20) are aligned with the black lines (19) on the green segment.
   (6) Disconnect the 98D52208001000 SLING-CLOSURE,OWE from the eye strap (3).
   (7) Close and push the panel (18).
   (8) Make sure that the fasteners (17) engage in the pins (16) of the overwing emergency-exit door (1).
Subtask 52-22-00-860-096-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Arming of the Slide-Release System
   (1) Pull the shaft (15):
     (a) For overwing emergency-exit door 833 ( 844) (1), pull the shaft (15) a small distance to the right.
     (b) For overwing emergency-exit door 834 ( 843) (1), pull the shaft (15) a small distance to the left.
   (2) Make sure that the unlock lever (11) disengages from the disarm bracket (10).
   (3) Push the unlock lever (11) down to turn the shaft (15).
   (4) Turn the shaft (15) more until the unlock lever (11) engages:
     (a) For overwing emergency-exit door 833 ( 844) (1), push the shaft (15) to the left.
     (b) For overwing emergency-exit door 834 ( 843) (1), push the shaft (15) to the right.
NOTE: The spring (14) holds the release lever (13) in the correct position related to the counterpart lever (12) of the fuselage.
NOTE: The white indicator light SLIDE ARMED (22) in the cabin lining between the emergency exits comes on.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
F Overwing Emergency-Exit Door ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Install the handle cover (2) on the overwing emergency-exit door (1).
NOTE: The white indicator light SLIDE ARMED (22) in the cabin lining between the emergency exits goes off when the handle cover (2) of both active overwing emergency-exit doors is installed.
   (2) In the cockpit, on the ECAM DOOR/OXY page, the status of the related overwing emergency-exit door changes from AMBER color (door open) to GREEN color (door closed).
   (3) Do the special precautions after work on the offwing escape-slide system (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-00-081-001).
Subtask 52-22-00-860-098-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
