A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION on the slats and flaps control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).
   (3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the slats and flaps control lever.

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at overwing emergency-exit door 833, 843, 834 or 844.
   (2) Put on a safety harness:
WARNING: YOU MUST PUT ON AND ATTACH A SAFETY HARNESS BEFORE YOU START WORK:
  • ON THE THS OR IN THE REAR FUSELAGE
  • ON TOP OF THE WINGS OR PYLONS.
WITHOUT A SAFETY HARNESS, YOU CAN FALL. THIS CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY.
     (a) Install the individual pad system (Ref. AMM TASK 12-00-00-481-002).
     (b) Put on and attach a safety harness before you start work in the work area.
   (3) Open overwing emergency-exit door 833, 843, 834 or 844 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-803) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-802).
   (4) Make sure that the applicable overwing emergency-exit door stays in the fully open position for a minimum of one hour. This is to make sure that the ice melts and the water drains correctly.

D. Preparation of the Inspection Area
   (1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
   (2) If the inspection area is not sufficiently clean, clean it with the Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
4. Procedure
Subtask 52-22-00-220-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Inspection
   (1) Do a detailed inspection of the overwing emergency-exit-door seals.
   (2) Make sure that the overwing emergency-exit-door seals have no damage.
   (3) Make sure that the overwing emergency-exit-door seals are attached correctly.
   (4) Make sure that the drain and the vent holes have no blockage or contamination.
   (5) If necessary, clean the drain and the vent holes with the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close overwing emergency-exit door 833, 843, 834 or 844 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-802).
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).

   (3) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
