A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION on the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).
(3) Do the special precautions before work on the offwing escape-slide systems (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-00-481-001).
(4) On the overhead panel, on the SIGNS section of the control panel 25VU, make sure that:
(6) On Flight Attendant Panel (FAP) 120RH, make sure that the EMER button and its light are off.

C. Preparation from the Cabin side
(1) Remove the handle cover (4) of the related overwing emergency-exit door (1). emergency exits comes on.

D. Disarming of the Slide-Release System
(1) Pull the shaft (7):
(a) For overwing emergency-exit door 833 ( 844) (3), pull the shaft (7) a small distance to the right.
(b) For overwing emergency-exit door 834 ( 843) (3), pull the shaft (7) a small distance to the left.
(2) Push the unlock lever (6) upward to turn the shaft (7).
(a) For overwing emergency-exit door 833 ( 844) (3), make sure that the shaft (7) moves to the right.
(b) For overwing emergency-exit door 834 ( 843) (3), make sure that the shaft (7) moves to the left.
(3) Turn the shaft (7) until the unlock lever (6) is behind the disarm bracket (5).

E. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position to get access to the top of the wing.

- ON TOP OF THE WINGS OR PYLONS.
(b) Put on and attach a safety harness before you start work in the work area.

WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE LOCK PIN IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED IN THE REGULATOR VALVE ASSEMBLY OF THE INFLATION RESERVOIR. THIS SAFETIES ALL COMPONENTS OF THE INFLATION SYSTEM IN OPERATION AND PREVENTS ACCIDENTAL:
- DISCHARGE OF THE INFLATION RESERVOIR
- DEPLOYMENT OF THE ESCAPE SLIDE
WARNING:
BEFORE YOU OPEN OR CLOSE THE OVERWING EMERGENCY EXIT-DOOR, MAKE SURE THAT ITS TRAVEL RANGE IS CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF THE OVERWING EMERGENCY EXIT-DOOR CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
DO NOT STAY DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE OVERWING EMERGENCY-EXIT DOOR WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. STAY ON THE SIDE OF THE DOOR WHEN YOU PUSH THE SMALL FLAP AND THE VENT FLAP TO OPEN THE DOOR.
IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, INJURY TO PERSONS CAN OCCUR.
WARNING:
DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE WHEN THE HANDLE COVER IS INSTALLED. IF YOU DO, THE HANDLE COVER CAN FALL DOWN AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
A. Opening of the Overwing Emergency-Exit Door from the Outside NOTE: A label on the outside of the overwing emergency-exit door (3) gives specific instructions to operate the overwing emergency-exit door (3) and to prevent injuries to the operator.
(1) Push in the small flap (1) to unlock the vent flap (2). (2) Fully push in the vent flap (2) to unlock the overwing emergency-exit door.
NOTE: This will start the opening sequence of the overwing emergency-exit door.
NOTE: The overwing emergency-exit door opens automatically.
