(3) Obey the special precautions before you start the work on the passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001).

BEFORE YOU START WORK ON THE DOOR, MAKE SURE THAT:
- THE EMERGENCY CONTROL HANDLE IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
- THE PERCUSSION LEVER OF THE DOOR-DAMPER AND EMERGENCY-OPERATION CYLINDER IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
WARNING:
STOP THE OPENING PROCEDURE IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES. IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES, REMAINING PRESSURE CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO OPEN SUDDENLY AND CAN:
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 832 or 842. - KILL OR CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO PERSONS
- CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
(2) Open aft passenger/crew door 832 or 842 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
(3) Obey the special precautions before you start the work on the passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001).
Subtask 52-13-18-340-052-A
A. Repair of the Chafing on the Seal
(1) Lightly rub the chafing area with the CLOTH-EMERY, VERY FINE.
(2) Carefully remove the grease from the chafing area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Apply a thin layer of Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) on the chafing area and make it smooth with the SPATULA - NON METALLIC.
(4) To prevent dust on the chafing area let the adhesive sealant dry between 10 and 12 hours.
Subtask 52-13-18-340-050-A (1) Lightly rub the chafing area with the CLOTH-EMERY, VERY FINE.
(2) Carefully remove the grease from the chafing area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Apply a thin layer of Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) on the chafing area and make it smooth with the SPATULA - NON METALLIC.
(4) To prevent dust on the chafing area let the adhesive sealant dry between 10 and 12 hours.
B. Repair of Cuts with a Small Depth (not more than one third of the thickness of the seal)
(2) Lightly rub the cut area with the CLOTH-EMERY, VERY FINE.
(3) Carefully remove the grease from the cut area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(4) Apply Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) or Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Rubber & Plastic Bonding One part - (Material No.06CED1) on the cut area and make it smooth with the SPATULA - NON METALLIC.
(5) To prevent dust on the cut area let the adhesive sealant dry between 10 and 12 hours.
Subtask 52-13-18-340-051-A NOTE: A minimum of 24 hours is necessary to do this repair procedure.
(1) If less time is available, replace the defective door seal with a new one (Ref. AMM TASK 52-11-18-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 52-11-18-400-001).(2) Lightly rub the cut area with the CLOTH-EMERY, VERY FINE.
(3) Carefully remove the grease from the cut area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(4) Apply Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) or Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Rubber & Plastic Bonding One part - (Material No.06CED1) on the cut area and make it smooth with the SPATULA - NON METALLIC.

C. Permanent Repair of Cuts with a Large Depth (more than one third of the thickness of the seal) and Small Holes
(2) Drill stop holes with a diameter of 2.0 mm (0.08 in.) at the ends of the cuts.
(3) Push the seal to open the cut area.
(4) Lightly rub the cut area with the CLOTH-EMERY, VERY FINE.
(5) Carefully remove the grease from the cut area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(6) Apply a thin layer of Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) or Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Rubber & Plastic Bonding One part - (Material No.06CED1) on the cut area.
(7) Push the edges of the cut area together and let them dry for some minutes.
(8) Cut pieces of Laminate Repair Patch-Pax Door Seal - - (Material No.13XJA1) to put them on the cuts.
(9) Apply a thin layer of Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) or Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Rubber & Plastic Bonding One part - (Material No.06CED1) on the damaged area.
(10) If the cuts have a large depth, cut pieces of Laminate Repair Patch-Pax Door Seal - - (Material No.13XJA1) of a sufficient dimension to put them around the seal.
(11) Put pieces of Laminate Repair Patch-Pax Door Seal - - (Material No.13XJA1) on the cuts and put a layer of Film-Rubber Bonding Polyester Foil - (Material No.14HHB1) on the damaged area.
(12) Put the seal in a wooden bonding block.
(13) Compress the seal with the wooden bonding block and the CLAMPS and let it dry for 24 hours.
(14) Remove the wooden bonding block, the film-rubber bonding polyester-foil and the unwanted adhesive sealant with the CLOTH-EMERY, VERY FINE.
Subtask 52-13-18-340-054-A NOTE: A repair of the cuts is only permitted if the cuts are not longer than 25.4 mm (1.0 in.).
A repair of the holes is only permitted if:

- The holes are less than 6.4 mm (0.25 in.) and the distance between each hole is more than 25.4 mm (1.0 in.).
- There are not more than three holes in a section of 200.0 mm (7.87 in.).
In all other conditions, prepare a splice repair of the door seal (refer to Para. 4.E. Repair of the Very Damaged Area).
NOTE: A minimum of 24 hours is necessary to do this repair procedure.

(14) Remove the wooden bonding block, the film-rubber bonding polyester-foil and the unwanted adhesive sealant with the CLOTH-EMERY, VERY FINE.
D. Temporary Repair of Cuts with a Large Depth (more than one third of the thickness of the seal) and Small Holes

(7) Push the edges of the cut area together and let them dry for some minutes.
(8) Cut pieces of Laminate Repair Patch-Pax Door Seal - - (Material No.13XJA1) to put them on the cut area.
(9) Apply a thin layer of Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) or Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Rubber & Plastic Bonding One part - (Material No.06CED1) on the damaged area.
(10) If the cuts have a large depth, cut pieces of Laminate Repair Patch-Pax Door Seal - - (Material No.13XJA1) of a sufficient dimension to put them around the seal.
(11) Put pieces of Laminate Repair Patch-Pax Door Seal - - (Material No.13XJA1) on the cuts and put a layer of Film-Rubber Bonding Polyester Foil - (Material No.14HHB1) on the damaged area.
(12) Put the seal in a wooden bonding block.
(13) Compress the seal with the wooden bonding block and the CLAMPS and let it dry for 24 hours.
(14) Remove the wooden bonding block, the film-rubber bonding polyester-foil and the unwanted adhesive sealant with the CLOTH-EMERY, VERY FINE.
E. Repair of the Very Damaged Area (Splice Repair)
(2) Cut the seal at a minimum distance of 50.0 mm (1.97 in.) from the next inflation hole to remove the damaged section of the seal.
(4) Make sure that the replacement seal has the same quantity of inflation holes as the removed section.
(5) Carefully remove the first layer of the replacement tissue from the ends of the seal and the replacement section on a length of 25.4 mm (1.0 in.) (damaged area).
(6) Lightly rub the damaged area with the CLOTH-EMERY, FINE.
(7) Carefully remove the grease from the surface with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(8) Apply a thin layer of Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) or Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Rubber & Plastic Bonding One part - (Material No.06CED1) on the ends of the seal and the replacement section.
(9) Make sure that the inflation holes of the replacement section are in the correct position:
(10) Push and hold the ends of the replacement section and the seal together and let them dry for some minutes.
(11) Cut pieces of Laminate Repair Patch-Pax Door Seal - - (Material No.13XJA1) equal to the dimension of the damaged area.
(12) Apply a layer of Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) or Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Rubber & Plastic Bonding One part - (Material No.06CED1) on the mating surfaces of the replacement tissue and the damaged area.
(13) Wind the replacement tissue around the damaged area.
(14) Apply a layer of Film-Rubber Bonding Polyester Foil - (Material No.14HHB1) on the damaged area.
(15) Put the seal in a wooden bonding block.
(16) Compress the seal with the wooden bonding block and the CLAMPS and let it dry for 24 hours.
(17) Remove the wooden bonding block and the film-rubber bonding polyester-foil from the damaged area of the seal.
(18) Lightly rub the damaged area with the CLOTH-EMERY, VERY FINE to get a smooth seal surface.
5. Close-upNOTE: A minimum of 24 hours is necessary to do this repair procedure.
(1) If less time is available, replace the defective door seal with a new one (Ref. AMM TASK 52-11-18-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 52-11-18-400-001).(2) Cut the seal at a minimum distance of 50.0 mm (1.97 in.) from the next inflation hole to remove the damaged section of the seal.
NOTE: The minimum repair length of the section is:

(4) Make sure that the replacement seal has the same quantity of inflation holes as the removed section.
(5) Carefully remove the first layer of the replacement tissue from the ends of the seal and the replacement section on a length of 25.4 mm (1.0 in.) (damaged area).
(6) Lightly rub the damaged area with the CLOTH-EMERY, FINE.
(7) Carefully remove the grease from the surface with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(8) Apply a thin layer of Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) or Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Rubber & Plastic Bonding One part - (Material No.06CED1) on the ends of the seal and the replacement section.
(9) Make sure that the inflation holes of the replacement section are in the correct position:
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE DOOR SEAL IS INSTALLED IN THE CORRECT POSITION. IF IT IS NOT INSTALLED IN THE CORRECT POSITION, IT WILL NOT INFLATE CORRECTLY DURING FLIGHT.
(a) Make sure that the inflation holes of the replacement section are in the same position as the inflation holes of the remaining section. (10) Push and hold the ends of the replacement section and the seal together and let them dry for some minutes.
(11) Cut pieces of Laminate Repair Patch-Pax Door Seal - - (Material No.13XJA1) equal to the dimension of the damaged area.
(12) Apply a layer of Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) or Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Rubber & Plastic Bonding One part - (Material No.06CED1) on the mating surfaces of the replacement tissue and the damaged area.
(13) Wind the replacement tissue around the damaged area.
(14) Apply a layer of Film-Rubber Bonding Polyester Foil - (Material No.14HHB1) on the damaged area.
(15) Put the seal in a wooden bonding block.
(16) Compress the seal with the wooden bonding block and the CLAMPS and let it dry for 24 hours.
(17) Remove the wooden bonding block and the film-rubber bonding polyester-foil from the damaged area of the seal.
(18) Lightly rub the damaged area with the CLOTH-EMERY, VERY FINE to get a smooth seal surface.

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Obey the special precautions after the work on the passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-002).
(3) Close aft passenger/crew door 832 or 842 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Obey the special precautions after the work on the passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-002).
(3) Close aft passenger/crew door 832 or 842 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
Wooden Bonding Block
