A. Get Access

WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE PASSENGER/CREW DOOR IF THE WIND SPEED IS MORE THAN 65 KNOTS.

WARNING: BEFORE YOU START WORK ON THE DOOR, MAKE SURE THAT:

THE EMERGENCY CONTROL HANDLE IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
THE PERCUSSION LEVER OF THE DOOR-DAMPER AND EMERGENCY-OPERATION CYLINDER IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.

IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, THE DOOR CAN OPEN WITH FORCE OR THE ESCAPE SLIDE CAN DEPLOY SUDDENLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

WARNING: STOP THE OPENING PROCEDURE IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES. IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES, REMAINING PRESSURE CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO OPEN SUDDENLY AND CAN:

KILL OR CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO PERSONS
CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position in front of the passenger/crew door 832 or 842.
(2) Open the applicable passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
(3) Obey the special precautions before you start work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001).

(1) Remove the escape slide:
(a) For the left door:
If installed, remove the left escape slide pack-assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-000-002).
(b) For the right door:
If installed, remove the right escape slide pack-assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-000-802).
(2) Remove the door lining (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-000-002)
(a) For the left door: 832GZ 832FZ 832EZ 832DZ 832CZ 832BZ and 832AZ.
(b) For the right door: 842GZ 842FZ 842EZ 842DZ 842CZ 842BZ and 842AZ.
(3) Remove the door insulation.
(4) Install the 98D52103501000 BALLAST WEIGHT - PASSENGER CREW DOOR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-480-001).

C. Removal of Component
(1) Remove the escape slide:
(a) For the left door:
If installed, remove the left escape slide raft pack-assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-000-012).
(b) For the right door:
If installed, remove the right escape slide raft pack-assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-000-804).
(2) Remove the door lining (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-000-002)
(a) For the left door: 832GZ 832FZ 832EZ 832DZ 832CZ 832BZ and 832AZ.
(b) For the right door: 842GZ 842FZ 842EZ 842DZ 842CZ 842BZ and 842AZ.
(3) Remove the door insulation.
(4) Install the 98D52103501000 BALLAST WEIGHT - PASSENGER CREW DOOR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-480-001).

4. Procedure
Subtask 52-13-00-820-051-A

A. Load Adjustment of the Control Handle

Load Adjustment of the Control Handle of the AFT Passenger/Crew Door ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Take a DYNAMOMETER 20 DAN (45 LBF) - PULL.
(2) Make sure that the load necessary to open the door with the inner control handle (2) is less than or equal to 18 daN (40.47 lbf).
(3) If the load is not in the tolerances, adjust as follows:

WARNING: USE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

(a) Remove and discard the lockwire from the tension bolt (1).
(b) Adjust the tension bolt (1) to get the correct load.
(c) Safety the tension bolt (1) with 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
(4) Make sure that the inner control handle (2) comes to its initial position with the door in the up position and the down position.

5. Close-up
Subtask 52-13-00-410-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Installation of the Component
(1) Remove the 98D52103501000 BALLAST WEIGHT - PASSENGER CREW DOOR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-080-001).
(2) Install the door insulation.
(3) Install the door lining. (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-400-002)
(a) For the left door: 832GZ 832FZ 832EZ 832DZ 832CZ 832BZ and 832AZ.
(b) For the right door: 842GZ 842FZ 842EZ 842DZ 842CZ 842BZ and 842AZ.
(4) Install the escape slide:
(a) For the left door:
Install the left escape slide pack-assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-400-006).
(b) For the right door:
Install the right escape slide pack-assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-400-802).

Subtask 52-13-00-410-053-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Installation of the Component
(1) Remove the 98D52103501000 BALLAST WEIGHT - PASSENGER CREW DOOR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-080-001).
(2) Install the door insulation.
(3) Install the door lining. (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-46-400-002)
(a) For the left door: 832GZ 832FZ 832EZ 832DZ 832CZ 832BZ and 832AZ.
(b) For the right door: 842GZ 842FZ 842EZ 842DZ 842CZ 842BZ and 842AZ.
(4) Install the escape slide:
(a) For the left door:
Install the left escape slide raft pack-assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-400-007).
(b) For the right door:
Install the right escape slide raft pack-assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-400-803).

B. Close Access
(1) Obey the special precautions after the work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-002).
(2) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(3) Close the applicable passenger/crew door 831 or 841 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001) .
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
