Functional Check of Escape Slide Disarming when Door is Opened from Outside
WARNING:
DO NOT OPEN THE PASSENGER/CREW DOOR IF THE WIND SPEED IS MORE THAN 65 KNOTS.
WARNING:
BEFORE YOU START WORK ON THE DOOR, MAKE SURE THAT:
- THE EMERGENCY CONTROL HANDLE IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
- THE PERCUSSION LEVER OF THE DOOR-DAMPER AND EMERGENCY-OPERATION CYLINDER IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
WARNING:
STOP THE OPENING PROCEDURE IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES. IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES, REMAINING PRESSURE CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO OPEN SUDDENLY AND CAN:
- KILL OR CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO PERSONS
- CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE THE INNER / OUTER CONTROL HANDLE TO PUSH/PULL THE DOOR. USE THE HANDLE ONLY TO LOCK/UNLOCK THE DOOR.
IF YOU USE THE HANDLE TO PUSH/PULL THE DOOR, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE:
- TO THE INTERLOCK MECHANISM HOOK OR HOOK.
- TO THE HANDLE, AND TO THE HANDLE CUT-OUT ON THE DOOR SKIN.
NOTE: Two persons are necessary for the task.

A. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 831, 841, 832 or 842.
(2) Open applicable passenger/crew door 831 841 832 842 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
(3) Obey the special precautions before you start work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001).
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 831, 841, 832 or 842.
(2) Open applicable passenger/crew door 831 841 832 842 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
(3) Obey the special precautions before you start work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001).
Subtask 52-10-00-410-141-A
A. Closing of the Door
(1) Close the door from the inner side of the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
(2) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the outer door control-handle to tell persons not to open the door.
(3) Remove the decorative-cover from the pack-assembly and safety the inflation reservoir of the escape-slide :
Install the lock pin in the regulator valve assembly.
Subtask 52-10-00-081-053-A (1) Close the door from the inner side of the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
(2) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the outer door control-handle to tell persons not to open the door.
(3) Remove the decorative-cover from the pack-assembly and safety the inflation reservoir of the escape-slide :
- For the right door: (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-000-802) or (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-000-804).
- For the left door: (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-000-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-000-012).
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE LOCK PIN IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED IN THE REGULATOR VALVE ASSEMBLY OF THE INFLATION RESERVOIR. THIS SAFETIES ALL COMPONENTS OF THE INFLATION SYSTEM IN OPERATION AND PREVENTS ACCIDENTAL:
- DISCHARGE OF THE INFLATION RESERVOIR
- DEPLOYMENT OF THE ESCAPE SLIDE
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE LOCK PIN IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED IN THE REGULATOR VALVE ASSEMBLY OF THE INFLATION RESERVOIR. THIS SAFETIES ALL COMPONENTS OF THE INFLATION SYSTEM IN OPERATION AND PREVENTS ACCIDENTAL:
(a) Safety the inflation reservoir of the escape-slide: - DISCHARGE OF THE INFLATION RESERVOIR
- DEPLOYMENT OF THE ESCAPE SLIDE
Install the lock pin in the regulator valve assembly.
B. Removal of the Safety Pin
(1) Remove the 98D52103500000 SAFETY PIN - SLIDE ARMING from the emergency control handle.
Subtask 52-10-00-720-062-A (1) Remove the 98D52103500000 SAFETY PIN - SLIDE ARMING from the emergency control handle.
CAUTION:
DO NOT OPEN THE PASSENGER/CREW DOOR. IF YOU DO, YOU WILL START THE SEQUENCE OF STEPS THAT PULLS THE INFLATABLE ASSEMBLY OUT OF THE PACK-ASSEMBLY.
(2) Put the emergency control handle in the ARMED position. C. Functional Test of the Escape Slide Disarming when the Door is Opened from the Outer Side of the Aircraft
(1) From the outer side of the aircraft, slowly lift the outer control handle.
In the aircraft, make sure that the emergency control handle moves to the DISARMED position.
(3) Fully open the door.
Subtask 52-10-00-410-142-A (1) From the outer side of the aircraft, slowly lift the outer control handle.
In the aircraft, make sure that the emergency control handle moves to the DISARMED position.
NOTE: When the door is opened, the control system of the emergency escape slide release-mechanism is disarmed automatically and the slide will not deploy.
(2) From the inner side of the aircraft, make sure that the girt bar of the escape slide is unlocked from the floor fittings when the door moves up and opens. (3) Fully open the door.
D. Closing of the Door
(1) Close the door from the inner side of the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
Subtask 52-10-00-481-053-A (1) Close the door from the inner side of the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
E. Installation of the Safety Pin
(1) Put the emergency control handle in the DISARMED position and then install the 98D52103500000 SAFETY PIN - SLIDE ARMING.
(2) Remove the lock pin from the regulator valve assembly and install the decorative-cover on the pack-assembly:
(a) For the right door: (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-400-802) or (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-400-803).
(b) For the left door: (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-400-006) or (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-400-007).
5. Close-up(1) Put the emergency control handle in the DISARMED position and then install the 98D52103500000 SAFETY PIN - SLIDE ARMING.
(2) Remove the lock pin from the regulator valve assembly and install the decorative-cover on the pack-assembly:
(a) For the right door: (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-400-802) or (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-400-803).
(b) For the left door: (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-400-006) or (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-400-007).

A. Close Access
(1) Obey the special safety precautions after the work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-002).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Close passenger/crew door 831 841 832 842 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
(1) Obey the special safety precautions after the work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-002).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Close passenger/crew door 831 841 832 842 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
