WARNING:
DO NOT LET COMPRESSED GAS TOUCH YOUR SKIN. THE GAS CAN GO THROUGH THE SKIN AND MAKE BUBBLES IN THE BLOOD. THIS CONDITION CAN KILL YOU.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TOOLS AND SPARE PARTS ARE CLEAN AND IN THE CORRECT CONDITION. CLEAN OR REPLACE THEM IF NECESSARY. IF THE TOOLS AND SPARE PARTS ARE DIRTY, CONTAMINATION CAN GO INTO THE FILLING VALVE AND NITROGEN CYLINDER AND CAUSE A NITROGEN LEAK.
A. Removal of the Filling Valve (1) Remove the blanking plug (4) from the filling valve (3).
(2) Remove the filling valve (3) from the damper and emergency operation cylinder (1).
(3) Remove the O-ring seal (2).
WARNING:
DO NOT FILL THE DOOR DAMPER AND EMERGENCY OPERATION CYLINDER TO A PRESSURE OF MORE THAN 120 BAR (1740 PSI). TOO MUCH PRESSURE WHEN YOU FILL THE CYLINDER CAN CAUSE INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
B. Installation of the Filling Valve (1) Clean the parts that you removed with a BRUSH - NON METALLIC, SOFT, a lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Naphta based and Alcohol - (Material No.08BBC1) .
(2) Dry the parts with BLOWING EQUIPMENT - DRY AIR.
(3) Do a check of the cure date and the shelf life of the O-ring seal (2) of the filling valve. Make sure that they are not expired.
(4) Do a visual inspection of the O-ring seal (2) of the filling valve with a MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 03X for:
- Offset
- Break of parting line projection
- Flow marks
- Surface particle inclusion
- Flash
- Flat
- Hollow or notch cutting trimming
- Indentation
- Back rind.
If you find one of these types of damage, discard and replace the O-ring seal of the filling valve (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-610-002).
(6) Install the new AIPC 52-11-14-01-060 VALVE (3) or the new AIPC 52-11-14-02-170 VALVE (3) (referred to in this procedure as filling valve) on the damper and emergency operation cylinder (1).
(7) Torque of the filling valve.
CAUTION:
DO NOT APPLY MORE THAN THE SPECIFIED TORQUE TO THE SCREWS OF THE GUIDE.
OVERTORQUE WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DIAPHRAGM AND WILL THUS CAUSE LEAKAGE OF NITROGEN FROM THE CYLINDER.
(a) TORQUE the filling valve (3) to between 3.15 and 2.85 m.daN (23.23 and 21.02 lbf.ft )
. (8) Fill the nitrogen bottle through the filling valve (3) to the correct pressure
(9) Installation of the blanking plug.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE BLANKING PLUG IS INSTALLED ON THE FILLING VALVE OF THE DOOR-DAMPER ACTUATOR CYLINDER. IF THERE IS NO BLANKING PLUG, CONTAMINATION CAN GO INTO THE FILLING VALVE AND NITROGEN CYLINDER AND CAUSE A NITROGEN LEAK.
(a) Install the blanking plug (4) on the filling valve (3). (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-614-001). Subtask 52-10-00-420-072-A
