Functional Check of Door Stops Adjustment


WARNING: DO NOT OPEN THE PASSENGER/CREW DOOR IF THE WIND SPEED IS MORE THAN 65 KNOTS.
WARNING: BEFORE YOU START WORK ON THE DOOR, MAKE SURE THAT:
  • THE EMERGENCY CONTROL HANDLE IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
  • THE PERCUSSION LEVER OF THE DOOR-DAMPER AND EMERGENCY-OPERATION CYLINDER IS IN THE DISARMED POSITION WITH THE SAFETY PIN INSTALLED.
IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, THE DOOR CAN OPEN WITH FORCE OR THE ESCAPE SLIDE CAN DEPLOY SUDDENLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
WARNING: STOP THE OPENING PROCEDURE IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES. IF THE RED WARNING LIGHT FLASHES, REMAINING PRESSURE CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO OPEN SUDDENLY AND CAN:
  • KILL OR CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO PERSONS
  • CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

3. Job Set-up

A. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 831(841) or 832(842).
   (2) Open passenger/crew door 831( 841) or 832( 842) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
   (3) Obey the special precautions before you do the work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-001).
   (4) Make sure that the escape slide, the escape raft or the ballast weight is installed:
     (a) For the left door (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-400-006) or (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-400-007) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-480-001)
     (b) For the right door (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-400-802) or (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-44-400-803) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-480-001).

B. Removal of the Components
   (1) Remove the necessary door frame linings:

C. Closing of the Door
   (1) Close the passenger/crew door from the inner side (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 52-10-00-220-057-A
A. Functional Check of Door Stops Adjustment
   (1) If necessary, do this check with the FLASHLIGHT and the MIRROR - INSPECTION.
   (2) Measure the clearance between the stop screw (2) and the door frame fitting (1) with the GAGE - FEELER.
   (3) Make sure that clearance A between the stop screw (2) and the door frame fitting (1) is 0 MM (0 IN.) +0.5 MM (0.0197 IN.).
   (4) Make sure that a minimum of three stop screws (2) touches the door frame with:
  • Two stop screws (2) on one side of the frame, and
  • One stop screw (2) on the opposite side of the frame.
   (5) If necessary, adjust the door stops (Ref. AMM TASK 52-11-00-820-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-13-00-820-001).

   (1) Open the passenger/crew door from the inner side (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).

   (1) Install the necessary door frame linings:

C. Close Access
   (1) Obey the special precautions after the work on the door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-860-002).
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Close passenger/crew door 831( 841) or 832( 842) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-410-001).
   (4) Remove all the fixtures, tools, test and support equipment used during this procedure.
   (5) Remove the access platform(s).
