Installation of the Start Contactors
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT NO AC OR DC POWER IS CONNECTED TO THE AIRCRAFT ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS.
THERE IS A RISK OF ELECTROCUTION IF THE AC OR DC POWER STAYS CONNECTED.

A. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the third occupant seat is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-11-41-000-001).
(2) In the cockpit, on the left lower side of the panel 120VU:
(4) Make sure that the access door 121AL is open.
Subtask 49-42-55-860-051-A (1) Make sure that the third occupant seat is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-11-41-000-001).
(2) In the cockpit, on the left lower side of the panel 120VU:
- make sure that the access door (1) is open.
(4) Make sure that the access door 121AL is open.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the external power connector is not connected to the aircraft EXT PWR receptacle.
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position at the access door 121AL to tell persons not to connect the external power connector.
(3) In the cockpit, on the overhead panel 35VU, make sure that these pushbutton switches are released:
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the external power connector is not connected to the aircraft EXT PWR receptacle.
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position at the access door 121AL to tell persons not to connect the external power connector.
(3) In the cockpit, on the overhead panel 35VU, make sure that these pushbutton switches are released:
- APU GEN,
- BAT 1, BAT 2,
- GEN 1, GEN 2,
- EXT PWR.
- 21VU (EMER ELEC PWR),
- 25VU (APU),
- 35VU (ELEC).
Subtask 49-42-55-420-050-A
A. Installation of the Start Contactor(s)
(1) Put the contactor(s) (4) in position, aligned with the locating hole.
(2) Install the contactor(s) (4) on the DC Bus 1 Contactor Module (13PN).
(3) Use a SOCKET DIA 13 MM (0,51 IN) to TORQUE the captive screws (3) to between 0.912 and 0.686 m.daN (80.71 and 60.71 lbf.in )

(4) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connector(s) (2).
(5) Make sure that the electrical connector(s) (2) are clean and in the correct condition.
(6) Connect the electrical connector(s) (2) to the contactor(s) (4).
Subtask 49-42-55-861-050-A Subtask 49-42-55-860-052-A (1) Put the contactor(s) (4) in position, aligned with the locating hole.
(2) Install the contactor(s) (4) on the DC Bus 1 Contactor Module (13PN).

(6) Connect the electrical connector(s) (2) to the contactor(s) (4).
C. Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).

D. Test of the Contactor
(1) On the ECAM control panel:

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) In the cockpit, in the left Lower side of the panel 120VU:
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(5) Close the access door 121AL.
(6) Remove the access platform(s).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) In the cockpit, in the left Lower side of the panel 120VU:
- install the access door (1).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(5) Close the access door 121AL.
(6) Remove the access platform(s).
