A. Deactivation of the APU
(1) Make sure that the air intake flap is in the closed position.
(a) If the air intake flap is open, and there is no fault in the ECB (59KD), in the 28V DC motor of the air-intake flap actuator (4015KM), or in the wiring:
1 On the panel 121VU, open and then close the circuit breaker 1KD.
2 On the panel 25VU, set the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch to the ON position and then to the OFF position.
3 Make sure that the air intake flap is in the closed position.
(2) On the panel 25VU:
Subtask 49-10-00-865-062-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the air intake flap is in the closed position.
CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU COME TO THE MECHANICAL STOP AT THE END OF TRAVEL. IF YOU TURN THE MANUAL DRIVE SHAFT WITH MORE TORQUE THAN THE LIMIT, DAMAGE TO THE AIR INTAKE FLAP ACTUATOR WILL OCCUR.
(b) If the air intake flap is open, and there is a fault in the ECB (59KD), in the 28V DC motor of the air-intake flap actuator (4015KM), or in the wiring, you must close it manually: NOTE: You can close the air intake flap manually in all conditions.
1 Turn the manual drive shaft on the air-intake flap actuator (4015KM) until the air intake flap is in the fully closed position. NOTE: Make sure that the torque necessary to turn the manual drive shaft is not more than 0.3 m.daN (26.55 lbf.in) for the actuator 43-1-1100 Amendment 1, for the actuator 106-1-1100-02 not more than 0.4 m.daN (35.40 lbf.in). Be careful when you come to the mechanical stop at the end of travel. If you turn the manual drive shaft with more torque than the limit, damage to the air-intake flap actuator will occur.
NOTE: On the actuator 43-1-1100 Amendment 1, 47 turns are required for one full travel of the air-intake flap actuator. On the actuator 106-1-1100-02, 87 turns are required.
2 Make sure that the air intake flap is in the correct position. (2) On the panel 25VU:
- Make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is set to OFF.
- Make sure that the APU START pushbutton switch is set to OFF.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) 'APU INOP' in position.
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is set to OFF.
