A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in the fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-003).
   (2) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.

   (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are de-energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).

D. Fuel Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the center tank is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

E. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at the zone 142.
   (2) Get access to the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
4. Procedure
Subtask 47-20-41-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU TOUCH THIS ASSEMBLY. IT HAS PRECISION- TOLERANCE COMPONENTS WITH VERY POLISHED SURFACES. IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL, IT IS VERY EASY TO CAUSE DAMAGE TO THESE COMPONENTS (INTERNAL CONTAMINATION, EXTERNAL IMPACT DAMAGE).
A. Installation of the IGGS In-Tank Housing
NOTE: Two persons are necessary to do this procedure. One person is in the center tank to hold the IGGS in-tank housing. The other person is on top of the center tank to install the attaching parts.
   (1) Install the new AIPC 47-20-04-01-130 O-RING (2) or AIPC 47-20-84-01-120 O-RING (2) on the IGGS in-tank housing (3).
   (2) Hold the IGGS in-tank housing (3) in position and install the nuts (1).
   (3) TORQUE the nuts (1) to between 0.80 and 0.70 m.daN (70.80 and 61.95 lbf.in )
T.
   (4) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (5) Install the union (6) on the IGGS in-tank housing (3) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-12-911-001).
   (6) Install the bonding lead (5) with the screw (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (7) Install the bonding lead (7) with the screw (8) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (8) Apply Varnish-- Electrical Bonding Structure (Material No.04TMB2) on the screw heads (4) and (8).
   (9) Install the dual-flapper check valve (Ref. AMM TASK 47-20-43-400-001).

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Leak Test
NOTE: You must do the two subsequent steps at the same time. Two persons are necessary to do these steps.
   (1) Do the BITE test of the Inert Gas Generation System (IGGS) with bleed air (Ref. AMM TASK 47-31-34-740-001).
   (2) Examine the joints on the in-tank housing (3) and the duct assembly (6) for air leakage.
NOTE: Air leaks are not permitted.
   (3) Do the double barrier check of the dual-flapper check valve (Ref. AMM TASK 47-20-43-400-001).
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
   (3) Remove the access platform.

B. Fuel Configuration
   (1) Refuel the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003).

C. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
