C. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at zone 191.
(2) Remove the quick-release access panel (access panel) 191BB (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-000-002).
4. Procedure(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at zone 191.
(2) Remove the quick-release access panel (access panel) 191BB (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-000-002).
Subtask 47-10-41-020-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Double Ultra Low Particulate Air (D-ULPA) Filter Element
(3) Remove the bolt (7).
(4) Turn the filter bowl (6) counterclockwise to remove it from the filter head (2).
(5) Use a EXTRACTION TOOL - SEAL to remove and discard the packing (5) from the filter head (2).
(6) Remove the D-ULPA filter element (4) with its attached spring.

DO NOT GO INTO THE WORK AREA UNTIL A MINIMUM OF 5 MINUTES AFTER YOU REMOVE THE ACCESS PANEL. LET AIR FLOW THROUGH THE WORK AREA. AIR FROM THIS SYSTEM HAS A LOW OXYGEN CONTENT AND CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH.
WARNING:
PUT ON GLOVES, A COVERALL WITH A HOOD, GOGGLES AND A PARTICULATE RESPIRATOR BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE FILTER. THE FILTER REMOVES SMALL PARTICLES (SMOKE, DUST, LINT, FIBERS, POLLEN) AND INFECTIOUS MATERIALS (BACTERIA, VIRUSES, MOLD SPORES, FUNGI) FROM THE AIR. THESE MATERIALS CAN CAUSE ILLNESS.
WARNING:
PUT ALL AIR FILTERS THAT YOU REMOVE FROM THE AIRCRAFT INTO PLASTIC DISPOSAL BAGS. AIR FILTERS CAN CONTAIN INFECTIOUS MATERIALS WHICH CAN CAUSE ILLNESS. OBEY AIRLINE POLICY AND LOCAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT AND LAW ENFORCEMENT REGULATIONS FOR DISPOSAL OF INFECTIOUS MATERIALS.

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU TOUCH THIS ASSEMBLY. IT HAS PRECISION- TOLERANCE COMPONENTS WITH VERY POLISHED SURFACES. IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL, IT IS VERY EASY TO CAUSE DAMAGE TO THESE COMPONENTS (INTERNAL CONTAMINATION, EXTERNAL IMPACT DAMAGE).
CAUTION:
REMOVE OR INSTALL PACKING SEALS CAREFULLY. DAMAGE TO SEALS OR SEALING SURFACES CAN CAUSE LEAKAGE AND CORROSION.
(1) Use the equipment that follows: - RESPIRATOR - PARTICULATE (NIOSH CLASS N, EN149:2001)
- GOGGLES - SAFETY
- GLOVES - LATEX OR NITRILE
- OVERALL WITH HOOD.
(3) Remove the bolt (7).
(4) Turn the filter bowl (6) counterclockwise to remove it from the filter head (2).
(5) Use a EXTRACTION TOOL - SEAL to remove and discard the packing (5) from the filter head (2).
(6) Remove the D-ULPA filter element (4) with its attached spring.
NOTE: It is not possible to clean a D-ULPA filter element (4) and use it again.
NOTE: The spring is permanently attached to the filter element (4). New springs are supplied with replacement filter elements.
(7) Remove and discard the packing (3). A. Removal of the Double Ultra Low Particulate Air (D-ULPA) Filter Element
(3) Turn the filter bowl (6) counterclockwise to remove it from the filter head (2).
(4) Use a EXTRACTION TOOL - SEAL to remove and discard the packing (5) from the filter head (2).
(5) Remove the D-ULPA filter element (4) with its attached spring.

(3) Turn the filter bowl (6) counterclockwise to remove it from the filter head (2).
(4) Use a EXTRACTION TOOL - SEAL to remove and discard the packing (5) from the filter head (2).
(5) Remove the D-ULPA filter element (4) with its attached spring.
NOTE: It is not possible to clean a D-ULPA filter element (4) and use it again.
NOTE: The spring is permanently attached to the filter element (4). New springs are supplied with replacement filter elements.
(6) Remove and discard the packing (3). B. Installation of the D-ULPA Filter Element
(2) Turn the D-ULPA filter element (4) clockwise to install it in the filter head (2).
(4) Install the new AIPC 47-10-41-01-050 PACKING (5) on the filter head (2).
(5) Install the filter bowl (6) on the filter head (2). Make sure that both parts are aligned. Do not move or cause damage to the packing (5).
(6) TORQUE the filter bowl (6) to between 3.5 and 2.5 m.daN (25.81 and 18.44 lbf.ft )
.
(7) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area Chromate Free - (Material No.06LCB1) on the thread of the bolt (7).
(8) Install the bolt (7).
(9) TORQUE the bolt (7) to between 0.8 and 0.6 m.daN (70.80 and 53.10 lbf.in )
.
(10) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(11) In the subsequent subtask, make sure that you close the CB 1HW first.

(1) Install the new AIPC 47-10-41-01-070 PACKING (3) on a new AIPC 47-10-41-01-060 D-ULPA FILTER ELEMENT (4). (2) Turn the D-ULPA filter element (4) clockwise to install it in the filter head (2).
NOTE: The spring is permanently attached to the filter element (4). New springs are supplied with replacement filter elements.
(3) Push down on the D-ULPA filter element (4) to make sure it is fully installed in the filter head (2). Make sure that the filter element with attached spring is installed properly. (4) Install the new AIPC 47-10-41-01-050 PACKING (5) on the filter head (2).
(5) Install the filter bowl (6) on the filter head (2). Make sure that both parts are aligned. Do not move or cause damage to the packing (5).
(6) TORQUE the filter bowl (6) to between 3.5 and 2.5 m.daN (25.81 and 18.44 lbf.ft )
. (7) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area Chromate Free - (Material No.06LCB1) on the thread of the bolt (7).
(8) Install the bolt (7).
(9) TORQUE the bolt (7) to between 0.8 and 0.6 m.daN (70.80 and 53.10 lbf.in )
. (10) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(11) In the subsequent subtask, make sure that you close the CB 1HW first.
C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Leak Test NOTE: Do the two subsequent steps at the same time. Two persons are necessary to do these steps.
(1) Do the BITE Test of the IGGS with Bleed Air (Ref. AMM TASK 47-31-34-740-001). (2) Examine the joint between the filter bowl (6) and the filter head (2) for air leakage.
NOTE: Air leaks are not permitted.
Subtask 47-10-41-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) If applicable, install the insulation jacket on the filter assembly (1).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Install access panel 191BB (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-400-002).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 47-10-41-410-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) If applicable, install the insulation jacket on the filter assembly (1).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Install access panel 191BB (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-400-002).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).

B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(2) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
