C. System Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the correct Z499H000090E CD BOOT-ALNA for the maintenance laptop is available.

A. Connection of the Maintenance Laptop to the Cabin Plug
NOTE: To do the procedure, a LAPTOP - FOR GSM ALNA MAINTENANCE with these features is necessary:
  • An Intel or AMD CPU with a frequency more than 800 MHz with 64bit instruction set capability
  • A minimum RAM size of 4 GB
  • An internal DVD ROM drive
  • LAN Adapter Ethernet RJ45 with minimum transfer rate more than 100 MBit/s
  • Pointing device (Touch pad, Trackball and/or Mouse)
  • Graphic Adapter and LCD screen supports a display size of 1024 x 768 pixel (24 bit color)
  • BIOS supports boot from DVD ROM
  • USB 3.0: for connection of external USB storages
  • HDD/SSD with a storage capacity more than 512 GB (For WCD content loading only)
  • Rechargeable Battery: Capacity more than 35 Wh (Battery Live: up to 4h)
  • eSATAp Connector (incl. 5V Power) (For WCD content loading only)
  • The correct Z499H000090E CD BOOT-ALNA for the maintenance laptop (Part Number: Z499H000090E or new version, Vendor: KID-Systeme C6253).
NOTE: If your laptops does not fulfill these requirements the connection to the ALNA system might not work.
ACTION
RESULT
In the cabin, at the cabin plug for the Connectivity System behind the FAP cover.
In the cabin, on the maintenance laptop display:
1.Connect the maintenance laptop to the cabin plug with the CABLE-ETHERNET,RJ45 TYPE.

2.Set the power switch of the maintenance laptop to ON position.
  • The maintenance laptop starts.
3.Open the DVD drive, insert the Boot-CD/DVD into the maintenance laptop and shut down the maintenance laptop.

4.Start the maintenance laptop again.
  • The maintenance laptop starts again.
NOTE: The maintenance laptop connection will not occur if the Head End Server Unit (HESU) of the Connectivity System does not operate. The HESU boots for a maximum of 10 minutes after it is energized.

5.Boot from the CD/DVD drive.

6.Wait approximately 5 minutes.
  • The maintenance laptop comes on with the "Service Overview Page".
7.Click on the "Login" icon.
  • A pop-up window shows.
8.Enter the access code and push "ENTER".

A. System Configuration
   (1) Shut down the maintenance laptop and disconnect it from the cabin plug.
NOTE: It is not necessary to shut down or disconnect the maintenance laptop, if you continue with a different procedure.

B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
   (2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
