A. System configuration

The parameter and the installation sequence are given below. For all loading procedures, you have to follow this sequence. An automatic reboot of the Connectivity System can occur.

This parameter is applicable:

  • FIN 3001RFSW8 SOFTWARE-ALNA, PARAMETER.

    This procedure has these steps:

  • Loading procedure of the parameter to the equipment
  • Do a check of the equipment/parameter configuration after the uploading procedure.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Use the ALNAv3 Parameter Z499H000090E CD BOOT-ALNA for the parameter loading.
   (3) Connect the Maintenance Laptop to the Cabin Plug (Ref. AMM TASK 46-41-00-860-801).

4. Procedure
Subtask 46-41-00-860-070-AY ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft configuration
NOTE: The aircraft must be on the ground for parameter loading.
   (1) Make sure that the correct Z499H000090E CD BOOT-ALNA for the LAPTOP - FOR GSM ALNA MAINTENANCE is available in the CD/DVD-ROM drive of the maintenance laptop.
   (2) Make sure that the Avionics Data shows as "Available" (Ref. AMM TASK 46-41-00-720-817).
   (3) If the Avionics Data shows as "Not Available", do the related troubleshooting procedure TSM 46-41-00-810-813.

B. Parameter loading procedure with the maintenance laptop
NOTE: To do the procedure, a LAPTOP - FOR GSM ALNA MAINTENANCE with these features is necessary:
  • An Intel or AMD CPU with a frequency more than 800 MHz with 64bit instruction set capability
  • A minimum RAM size of 4 GB
  • An internal DVD-ROM drive
  • A LAN Adapter Ethernet RJ45 with a minimum transfer rate of 100Mbit/s
  • A pointing device (touch pad, track ball and/or mouse)
  • A graphic adapter and LCD display with a display size of 1024x768 pixel and 24 bit color resolution
  • A BIOS which lets you boot from a CD/DVD-ROM
  • The correct Z499H000090E CD BOOT-ALNA for the ALNA system
  • USB 3.0 for connection of external USB storages
  • HDD/SSD with a storage capacity more than 512 GB (for WCD content loading only)
  • eSATAp Connector (5V Power) (for WCD content loading only)
  • Rechargeable Battery with capacity more than 35 Wh (Battery Live up to 4h)
NOTE: If you stop the upload procedure before it is completed the system must do a reboot to show the correct part numbers.
NOTE: The complete installation will take approximately 60 minutes.

At the maintenance laptop:
At the maintenance laptop:
1.Click on the "DATA LOADING" icon.
  • A hourglass symbol shows adjacent to the mouse cursor until the data shows.
  • The "DATA LOADING" page shows.
2.Remove the Z499H000090E CD BOOT-ALNA from the maintenance laptop.

3.Insert the CD/DVD with the load 3001RFSW8 SOFTWARE-ALNA, PARAMETER into the maintenance laptop.

4.On the upper right corner of the Graphic User Interface (GUI), click on the "Select Device" icon.

5.Select the CD/DVD media source.

6.Click the "OK" icon.

7.Click on the "DATA LOADING" icon to reload the page.
  • The "DATA LOADING" page shows.
NOTE: It can take up to 5 minutes to display the 2 packages in the list.
8.Click on the arrow-down icon adjacent to the entry configuration to install.
  • The drop-down menu shows.
9.Click on the "INSERTED MEDIA" icon.
  • The "INSERTED MEDIA" selection shows in a different color.
  • The "ALNA Parameter Load" shows in the selected list.
10.Click on the "INSTALL" icon.
  • A pop-up window shows the message "Start Software Installation?".
11.Click the "OK" icon to confirm.
  • The progress of the installation shows.
  • A pop-up window shows the progress of the installation.
  • The message "SOFTWARE INSTALLATION WAS SUCCESSFUL" shows.
12.Click the "OK" icon to confirm.
  • The HESU reboots.
  • The message "NO CONNECTION TO SERVER" shows.
NOTE: Wait until the reboot is completed.

5. Close-up
Subtask 46-41-00-862-088-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration
   (1) Remove the Z499H000090E CD BOOT-ALNA with the load from the maintenance laptop.
   (2) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
   (3) Shut down the maintenance laptop and disconnect it from the cabin plug.
NOTE: It is not necessary to shut down or disconnect the maintenance laptop, if you continue with a different procedure.
   (4) Put back the ALNA Boot-CD/DVD in the storage box.
   (5) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
