A. Initialization of the Air Traffic Service Unit (ATSU) Router

NOTE: The ATSU Router function manages data exchanges between the aircraft and the ground.
To operate correctly, the ATSU Router uses the configuration parameters that follow:
  • The aircraft registration number
  • The aircraft ICAO code
  • An ACARS A/L ID code which is a two-character code that identifies the airline
  • A standard A/L ID code which is a three-character code that identifies the airline
  • The multicast optional parameter that the airline uses to send a message to a group of aircraft
  • The VHF Scan mask that is a prioritized list of one or more VHF data service-providers.

All these parameters are shown in the MCDU COMM CONFIG menu but not the VHF scan mask which that is shown in the VHF3 SCAN SELECT menu.

You can set the S/W-ATSU ROUTER PARAM software component (FIN 30TXSW1) to include the Standard A/L ID code, the ACARS A/L ID code and the VHF Scan mask. If you do this:
  • The Standard A/L ID and the ACARS A/L ID extracted from S/W-ATSU ROUTER PARAM component are shown in green in the COMM CONFIG menu. It is not possible to change these parameters.
  • The operator cannot get access to the VHF3 SCAN SELECT menu and cannot see the content of the VHF scan mask.
  • To change these parameters, it is necessary to upload a new S/W-ATSU ROUTER PARAM software component.
