   (1) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU, lower ECAM DU only) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (2) On the center pedestal, on the MCDU 1, adjust the brightness of the MCDU screen.

A. VHF 3 Link Test of the ATSU
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the RMP1 (2, 3):
  • push the VHF3 pushbutton switch.

2.On the MCDU 1:
  • push the MCDU MENU mode key
On the MCDU 1:
3.On the MCDU MENU page:
  • push the line key adjacent to the ATSU indication.
On the MCDU 1:
  • the ATSU DATALINK page comes into view.
4.On the ATSU DATALINK page:
  • push the line key adjacent to the COMM indication.
On the MCDU 1:
  • the COMM MENU page comes into view.
5.On the COMM MENU page:
On the MCDU 1:
  • the VHF 3 DATA MODE page comes into view.
6.On the VHF 3 DATA MODE page:
  • push the line key adjacent to the applicable Service Provider (SP) indication.
On the VHF 3 DATA MODE page:
  • the SCAN indication, the name of the applicable Service Provider and the related frequency indication come into view in the top section of the page.
NOTE: If you set the Service Provider manually (as shown in this procedure), the SCAN indication becomes MANUAL after frequency scanning.
If scanning of the Service Provider frequency is automatic, the indication becomes AUTO.
7.On the VHF 3 DATA MODE page:
  • push the line key adjacent to the RETURN indication.
On the MCDU 1:
  • the COMM MENU page comes into view.
8.On the COMM MENU page:
  • push the line key adjacent to the COMM STATUS indication.
    F COMM STATUS Page ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
On the MCDU 1:
  • the COMM STATUS page comes into view
  • the DATA/DLK AVAIL indications are shown adjacent to the VHF 3 indication.
NOTE: The VHF3 changes to COMM status when the DATA frequency becomes available.
Some minutes can be necessary for this.
9.On the COMM STATUS page:
  • push the line key adjacent to the RETURN indication.
On the MCDU 1:
  • the COMM MENU page comes into view.
10.On the COMM MENU page:
On the MCDU 1:
  • the MAINTENANCE page comes into view.
11.On the MAINTENANCE page:
  • push the line key adjacent to the TEST indication.
On the MCDU 1:
  • the TEST page comes into view.
12.On the TEST page:
  • push the line key adjacent to the REQUEST VHF3 LINK indication.
On the TEST page:
  • the REQUEST indication goes out of view
  • the IN PROGRESS indication comes into view
  • at the end of the test, the OK indication comes into view.
13.On the MCDU 1:
  • push the line key adjacent to the RETURN indication until the ATSU DATALINK page comes into view.

14.On the MCDU 1:
  • push the MCDU MENU key.
On the MCDU1:
  • the MCDU MENU page comes into view.

6.On the MCDU 1:
  • Push the MCDU MENU key.
On the MCDU1:
  • The MCDU MENU page comes into view.

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) On the MCDU 1, fully decrease the brightness of the MCDU screen (display off).
   (2) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
