TASK 46-21-00-610-001-C
Uploading of the ATSU Software Component

CAUTION: IF YOU WANT TO UPLOAD THE ATSU SOFTWARE COMPONENTS FROM THE PDL, MAKE SURE THAT THESE SOFTWARE COMPONENTS ARE UPLOADED TO THE PDL. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, THERE IS A RISK OF FAILURE OF THE SOFTWARE UPLOADING.
CAUTION: YOU MUST DO A CHECK OF THE INTEGRITY OF THE MEDIA USED FOR THE SOFTWARE UPLOADING. MAKE SURE THAT YOU CORRECTLY COPIED THE DIRECTORY WITH ALL THE HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, THERE IS A RISK OF FAILURE OF THE SOFTWARE UPLOADING.
CAUTION: YOU MUST DO THE UPLOADING OF THE AOC APPLICATION SOFTWARE AND ASSOCIATED DATABASE AFTER UPLOADING OF THE ATSU A/C INTERFACE SOFTWARE. UPLOADING OF THE ATSU A/C INTERFACE SOFTWARE ERASES THE AOC APPLICATION SOFTWARE AND ASSOCIATED DATABASE.
CAUTION: DO THE UPLOADING OF THE AOC SOFTWARE (22TX) BEFORE YOU DO THE UPLOADING OF THE AOC DATABASE SOFTWARE (24TX).

A. Uploading of the ATSU Software Components (20TX, 21TX and 30TX)
CAUTION: DURING THE UPLOADING OF THE SOFTWARE COMPONENTS TO THE ATSU (FIN'S 20TXSW1, 21TXSW1, 30TXSW1, 23TXSW1, 25TXSW1, 35TXSW1, 36TXSW1, 39TXSW1, 37TXSW1, 22TXSW1, 24TXSW1, 31TXSW1, 42TXSW1), MAKE SURE THAT:
  • MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL DO NOT CHANGE THE SOURCE OF THE AIRCRAFT POWER SUPPLY (GROUND POWER UNIT, APU, ETC.)
  • MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL DO NOT TOUCH OR MOVE THE DATA LOADER SELECTOR(S)/DLRB AND THE MDDU/PDL.
IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE TWO PRECAUTIONS, THERE CAN BE ERASURE OF ALL THE SOFTWARE COMPONENTS LOADED INTO THE ATSU. IT CAN THEN BE NECESSARY TO START THE UPLOADING PROCEDURE OF ALL THE ATSU SOFTWARE COMPONENTS AGAIN.
   (1) Print the COMM CONFIG and VHF3 SCAN SELECT pages before you upload the ATSU software (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-003) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-013).
NOTE: The uploading sequence is as follows:
  • First, the ATSU A/C INTERFACE software component (20TX)
  • Then, the ATSU CONFIGURATION software component (21TX) and the ATSU ROUTER PARAMETERS software component (30TX).
You can upload these last two software components independently if the ATSU A/C INTERFACE software is uploaded.
NOTE: The loading time for a full disk changes in relation to the software. The maximum loading time is 40 minutes.
   (2) On the DLS, set the ON/OFF control switch to OFF position between each software uploading procedure. The ATSU does a Power On Self-Test (POST) to validate each uploading and to make sure that the software is operational.
NOTE: After the uploading procedures, it is necessary to do a check of the reference of the data loaded in the computer, on the MCDU.
NOTE: When you upload software component 30TX, if the P/Ns of software components 20TX and 30TX are not compatible, it is necessary to upload ATSU software components 20TX and 21TX again.
ACTION

A. Uploading of the ATSU Software Components (20TX, 21TX and 30TX) (with the PDL through ARINC 615)
NOTE: This procedure is used to upload software to the ATSU with the PDL.
NOTE: If the PDL has the digital signature check, the PDL can send two messages:
  • One if the PDL detects that the software is not signed (refer to PDL user guide), you can ignore this message. It has no effect on the aircraft software uploading.
  • One if the PDL detects an incorrect or corrupted signature (refer to PDL user guide), then the software uploading will not be possible and it will be necessary to use a different software.
For data security reasons, Airbus recommends the user to send a report of the fault to the aircraft-security focal point.

  • First, the AOC software component (22TX)
  • Then, the AOC database software component (24TX).
If necessary, you can do a reset (switch position OFF then ON) of the DLS between each set of the components.
NOTE: The maximum loading time for a full disk is 40 minutes.
NOTE: After the uploading procedures, it is necessary for the operator to do a check of the reference of the data loaded in the computer, on the MCDU.
NOTE: During the uploading of the customized software component (24TX), if you disconnect the PDL before the TRANSF COMPLETE or TRANSF FAILED indication is shown:
  • It will be necessary to upload all the software loaded in the ATSU (this is applicable to FIN 20TX).
NOTE: If software components 22TX and 24TX were uploaded, then it is necessary to upload:
