D. Get Access
(1) Open the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-003).
(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the aft cargo-compartment door.
(3) Set cargo-compartment light switch 8LU to ON position.
(4) Remove access panel 161DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).

4. Procedure

A. Removal of the Cartridge Air Filter 4212MM

Air Filter 4212MM ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Disconnect the tube (1).
(2) Cut and remove the lockwire from the cap (2).
(3) Remove the cap (2).
(4) Remove and discard the cartridge (3).
(5) Remove and discard the O-rings (4) and (5).

B. Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(1) Clean all metal parts with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Naphta based and Alcohol - (Material No.08BBC1) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .

C. Installation of the Cartridge Air Filter 4212MM

Air Filter 4212MM ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Put a new AIPC 38-42-42-01-020 O-RING (5) into the filter housing (6).
(2) Put a new AIPC 38-42-42-01-030 O-RING (4) onto the new AIPC 38-42-42-01-040 CARTRIDGE (3).
(3) Install the cartridge (3).
(4) Install the cap (2).
(5) Safety the cap (2) with corrosion-resistant steel lockwire 0.8 mm (0.032 in) dia.
(6) Connect the tube (1).
(7) TORQUE the nut of the tube (1) to between 1.1 and 0.99 m.daN (97.35 and 87.61 lbf.in )

D. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

E. Operational Test
(1) Do an operational test of the auxiliary air-supply system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-42-00-710-001)
(2) Examine air filter 4212MM for leaks.

NOTE: Leaks are not permitted.

5. Close-up

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install access panel 161DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-001).
(3) Set cargo-compartment light switch 8LU to OFF position.
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-004).
(6) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.

B. De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
