Subtask 38-32-42-860-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that the door of the related lavatory is open.
(3) Make sure that the sanitary cabinet door is open.
(4) Make sure that the potable-water shutoff valve (30) is closed.
Subtask 38-32-42-560-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that the door of the related lavatory is open.
(3) Make sure that the sanitary cabinet door is open.
(4) Make sure that the potable-water shutoff valve (30) is closed.
B. Preparation for Installation
(1) Make sure that the water faucet is closed.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Prevent damage to the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the water faucet is closed.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

Subtask 38-32-42-420-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Drain Valve Control
(1) Put a new AIPC 38-32-42-02-230 GASKET (3) in position and install the plunger (2) on the washbasin (4).
(2) Install the washer (5), the wave spring (8) and the nut (9).
(3) TORQUE the nut (9) to between 175 and 150 lbf.in (1.98 and 1.70 m.daN )

(a) Make sure that there is no gap between the wave spring (8) and the nut (9).
(4) Install the stud (7) and the locknut (6) and tighten them.
(5) Engage the control rod (15) and the connecting block (11) with the drain valve control:
(a) Put the plastic stop (10) in position.
(b) Install the lever (1) in position through the plunger (2).
(c) Install the lock spring (12), the stud (13) and the locknut (14).
(d) Tighten the stud (13) and the locknut (14).
Subtask 38-32-42-820-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put a new AIPC 38-32-42-02-230 GASKET (3) in position and install the plunger (2) on the washbasin (4).
(2) Install the washer (5), the wave spring (8) and the nut (9).
(3) TORQUE the nut (9) to between 175 and 150 lbf.in (1.98 and 1.70 m.daN )
.(a) Make sure that there is no gap between the wave spring (8) and the nut (9).
(4) Install the stud (7) and the locknut (6) and tighten them.
(5) Engage the control rod (15) and the connecting block (11) with the drain valve control:
(a) Put the plastic stop (10) in position.
(b) Install the lever (1) in position through the plunger (2).
(c) Install the lock spring (12), the stud (13) and the locknut (14).
(d) Tighten the stud (13) and the locknut (14).
B. Adjustment of the Drain Valve Control
(1) Pull the lever (1) up until it stops.
(2) Loosen the locknut (6) and the stud (5). Do not remove them from the connecting block (4).
(3) Push the washbasin drain plug down and tighten the stud (5) and the locknut (6).
(4) Push the lever (1) in and make sure that the washbasin drain plug opens.
(5) Loosen the locknut (9) and the stud (8). Do not remove them from the connecting block (11).
(6) Adjust the control rod (7) until it is perpendicular with the lever assembly (10) and tighten the stud (8) and the locknut (9).
(7) Operate the lever (1) for a minimum of two times and make sure that the system operates freely.
(8) Loosen the locknut (3) and adjust the stud (2) until the lever (1) has sufficient friction to keep it in the pulled position.
(9) Tighten the locknut (3).
Subtask 38-32-42-790-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Pull the lever (1) up until it stops.
(2) Loosen the locknut (6) and the stud (5). Do not remove them from the connecting block (4).
(3) Push the washbasin drain plug down and tighten the stud (5) and the locknut (6).
(4) Push the lever (1) in and make sure that the washbasin drain plug opens.
(5) Loosen the locknut (9) and the stud (8). Do not remove them from the connecting block (11).
(6) Adjust the control rod (7) until it is perpendicular with the lever assembly (10) and tighten the stud (8) and the locknut (9).
(7) Operate the lever (1) for a minimum of two times and make sure that the system operates freely.
(8) Loosen the locknut (3) and adjust the stud (2) until the lever (1) has sufficient friction to keep it in the pulled position.
(9) Tighten the locknut (3).
C. Leak check of the washbasin drain
(1) Close the washbasin drain valve.
(2) Put CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) to the drain masts 4DU and 14DU.
(3) Put approximately 2.0 l (0.5283 USgal) of water into the washbasin.
(4) Make sure that the water does not flow from the washbasin.
(5) Examine the washbasin drain for leaks.
(7) Make sure that the water flows from the washbasin.
(8) Remove the container(s).
5. Close-up(1) Close the washbasin drain valve.
(2) Put CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) to the drain masts 4DU and 14DU.
(3) Put approximately 2.0 l (0.5283 USgal) of water into the washbasin.
(4) Make sure that the water does not flow from the washbasin.
(5) Examine the washbasin drain for leaks.
NOTE: Leaks are not permitted.
(6) Open the washbasin drain. (7) Make sure that the water flows from the washbasin.
(8) Remove the container(s).
Subtask 38-32-42-410-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(3) Open the potable-water shutoff valve (30).
(4) Close the sanitary cabinet door.
(5) Close access to the related lavatory.
Subtask 38-32-42-862-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(3) Open the potable-water shutoff valve (30).
(4) Close the sanitary cabinet door.
(5) Close access to the related lavatory.
