Removal of the Washbasin Drain Valve
NOTE: The removal of a drain valve in a lavatory is given. The procedure is the same for all the lavatories.

C. Get Access
(1) Open the door of the related lavatory.
(2) Open the sanitary cabinet door.
(3) Close the potable-water shutoff valve (30).
(4) Put the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the washbasin to collect unwanted water.
Subtask 38-32-42-010-054-H ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Open the door of the related lavatory.
(2) Open the sanitary cabinet door.
(3) Close the potable-water shutoff valve (30).
(4) Put the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the washbasin to collect unwanted water.
C. Get Access
(1) Open the related lavatory door.
(2) Open the sanitary cabinet door.
(3) For the standard lavatory:
(a) Turn the control handle (2) to close the potable-water shutoff valve (1).
(4) For the space flex lavatory:
(a) Turn the control handle (4) to close the potable-water shutoff valve (3).
(5) For the smart lavatory:
(a) Turn the control handle (6) to close the potable-water shutoff valve (5).
(6) Put a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the washbasin to collect the unwanted material.
4. Procedure(1) Open the related lavatory door.
(2) Open the sanitary cabinet door.
(3) For the standard lavatory:
(a) Turn the control handle (2) to close the potable-water shutoff valve (1).
(4) For the space flex lavatory:
(a) Turn the control handle (4) to close the potable-water shutoff valve (3).
(5) For the smart lavatory:
(a) Turn the control handle (6) to close the potable-water shutoff valve (5).
(6) Put a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the washbasin to collect the unwanted material.
Subtask 38-32-42-020-051-F ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Drain valve in the Washbasin
(1) Remove the clamps (12).
(2) Remove the hoses (13) and (11).
(3) Put an identification mark on the valve body (5) and the washbasin for the correct installation position.
(4) Remove the plug (1).
(5) Remove the locknut (10) and the nut (9).
(6) Remove the washer (8) and the spacer (7).
(7) Remove and discard the O-ring (6).
(8) Remove the bolt (2).
(9) Remove the collar (3).
(10) Remove the valve body (5) from the washbasin.
(11) Remove and discard the packing (4).
(12) If you will use the removed parts again, clean and disinfect them (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
Subtask 38-32-42-020-051-G ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the clamps (12).
(2) Remove the hoses (13) and (11).
(3) Put an identification mark on the valve body (5) and the washbasin for the correct installation position.
(4) Remove the plug (1).
(5) Remove the locknut (10) and the nut (9).
(6) Remove the washer (8) and the spacer (7).
(7) Remove and discard the O-ring (6).
(8) Remove the bolt (2).
(9) Remove the collar (3).
(10) Remove the valve body (5) from the washbasin.
(11) Remove and discard the packing (4).
(12) If you will use the removed parts again, clean and disinfect them (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
A. Removal of the Washbasin Drain Valve
(1) Make the match marks on the components that you disconnect/remove to record their connection/position.
(3) Disconnect the hose (8) from the drain housing (7).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(5) Remove the stopper (10), if installed.
(6) Remove the sieve (1) from the flange (4).
(7) Remove and discard the packing (2).
(8) Remove the filter assembly (3).
(9) Hold the drain housing (7) and use an ALLEN KEY 1 INCH to remove the flange (4) from the drain housing (7).
(10) Remove the drain housing (7) and discard the gasket (6).
(11) If you use the removed parts again, use disinfectant to clean them (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
(1) Make the match marks on the components that you disconnect/remove to record their connection/position.
NOTE: This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.
(2) Remove the clamp (9). (3) Disconnect the hose (8) from the drain housing (7).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(5) Remove the stopper (10), if installed.
(6) Remove the sieve (1) from the flange (4).
(7) Remove and discard the packing (2).
(8) Remove the filter assembly (3).
(9) Hold the drain housing (7) and use an ALLEN KEY 1 INCH to remove the flange (4) from the drain housing (7).
(10) Remove the drain housing (7) and discard the gasket (6).
(11) If you use the removed parts again, use disinfectant to clean them (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
