WARNING:
ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
- ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, OR
- ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE SYSTEM.
WARNING:
DO NOT DO WORK ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
NOTE: The procedure for the installation of the drain valves in all galleys is the same.

Subtask 38-32-41-860-051-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that the potable-water shutoff valve of the galley potable-water system is closed.
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to open the potable-water shutoff valve.
(4) Make sure that the remaining water is released through the related galley water faucet.
(5) If applicable, make sure that the necessary galley equipment and the trolleys are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-35-00-010-001).
(6) If applicable, make sure that the related galley access panel is removed.
(7) If applicable, make sure that the insulation of the drain valve is removed.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that the potable-water shutoff valve of the galley potable-water system is closed.
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to open the potable-water shutoff valve.
(4) Make sure that the remaining water is released through the related galley water faucet.
(5) If applicable, make sure that the necessary galley equipment and the trolleys are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-35-00-010-001).
(6) If applicable, make sure that the related galley access panel is removed.
(7) If applicable, make sure that the insulation of the drain valve is removed.
Subtask 38-32-41-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Drain Valve
(1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Put the drain valve (5) in its installation position.
(4) Install the washers (4) and the screws (3).
(5) Tighten the screws (3).
(6) Put the clamps (1) on the hoses (2) and (6).
(7) Install the hoses (2) and (6).
(8) Tighten the clamps (1).
(9) If removed, connect the ring (7) to the drain valve (5).
Subtask 38-32-41-420-052-G ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Put the drain valve (5) in its installation position.
(4) Install the washers (4) and the screws (3).
(5) Tighten the screws (3).
(6) Put the clamps (1) on the hoses (2) and (6).
(7) Install the hoses (2) and (6).
(8) Tighten the clamps (1).
(9) If removed, connect the ring (7) to the drain valve (5).
A. Installation of the Drain Valve
(1) Make sure that the CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) is in position below the drain valve (4) to collect the water.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(5) Put the drain valve (4) in its installation position.
(6) Install the clamps (9):
(a) Put the clamps (9) in position on the drain valve (4).
(b) Install the spacers (6), the washers (7) and the screws (8) on the clamps (9).
(c) Tighten the screws (8) of the clamps (9).
(7) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(8) Connect the hoses (2) and (5) to the drain valve (4).
(9) Put the clamps (3) on the hoses (2) and (5).
(10) Tighten the screws of the clamps (3).
(11) If disconnected, connect the ring (1) to the drain valve (4).
Subtask 38-32-41-790-050-A (1) Make sure that the CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) is in position below the drain valve (4) to collect the water.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(5) Put the drain valve (4) in its installation position.
(6) Install the clamps (9):
(a) Put the clamps (9) in position on the drain valve (4).
(b) Install the spacers (6), the washers (7) and the screws (8) on the clamps (9).
(c) Tighten the screws (8) of the clamps (9).
(7) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(8) Connect the hoses (2) and (5) to the drain valve (4).
(9) Put the clamps (3) on the hoses (2) and (5).
(10) Tighten the screws of the clamps (3).
(11) If disconnected, connect the ring (1) to the drain valve (4).
B. Leak Check
(1) Pressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-003).
(2) In the galley:
(a) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S) related to the potable-water shutoff valve.
(b) Turn the potable-water shutoff valve to the open position.
(c) Operate the water faucet until water flows into the washbasin.
(d) Examine the fittings and the drain valve for leaks.
(4) Remove the CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL).
(5) Dry the work area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
5. Close-up(1) Pressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-003).
(2) In the galley:
(a) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S) related to the potable-water shutoff valve.
(b) Turn the potable-water shutoff valve to the open position.
(c) Operate the water faucet until water flows into the washbasin.
(d) Examine the fittings and the drain valve for leaks.
NOTE: Leaks are not permitted.
(3) Depressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002). (4) Remove the CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL).
(5) Dry the work area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
Subtask 38-32-41-410-053-A
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) If removed, install the insulation to the drain valve.
(3) If removed, install the related access panel.
(4) If removed, install the necessary galley equipment and the trolleys (Ref. AMM TASK 25-35-00-410-001).
Subtask 38-32-41-862-050-A (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) If removed, install the insulation to the drain valve.
(3) If removed, install the related access panel.
(4) If removed, install the necessary galley equipment and the trolleys (Ref. AMM TASK 25-35-00-410-001).
