Removal of the Drain Valve (Air Stop Valve) in the Galleys
WARNING:
ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
- ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, OR
- ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE SYSTEM.
WARNING:
DO NOT DO WORK ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
NOTE: The procedure for the removal of the drain valves in all galleys is the same.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Close the related potable-water shutoff valve of the galley potable-water system.
(2) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to open the potable-water shutoff valve.
(3) Operate the water faucet of the related galley to release the remaining water.

C. Get Access
(1) If the galley equipment is installed and if it is necessary to remove it, do the steps that follow:
(a) Remove the galley equipment (Ref. AMM TASK 25-35-00-010-001).
(b) Remove the trolleys.
(2) If the related galley access panel is installed, remove it.
4. Procedure(1) If the galley equipment is installed and if it is necessary to remove it, do the steps that follow:
(a) Remove the galley equipment (Ref. AMM TASK 25-35-00-010-001).
(b) Remove the trolleys.
(2) If the related galley access panel is installed, remove it.
NOTE: A placard shows the location of the drain valve.
(3) If the insulation of the drain valve is installed, remove it.Subtask 38-32-41-020-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Drain Valve
(1) Put a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) below the drain valve (5).
(2) If necessary, disconnect the ring (7) from the drain valve (5).
(3) Loosen the clamps (1) at the top and the bottom of the drain valve (5).
(4) Disconnect the hoses (2) and (6).
(5) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(6) Remove the screws (3) and the washers (4).
(7) Carefully remove the drain valve (5).
(8) If necessary, dry the area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(9) If you send the drain valve (5) to the workshop, make sure that it is sterilized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
(10) If you use removed parts again, clean and disinfect them (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
Subtask 38-32-41-020-051-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) below the drain valve (5).
(2) If necessary, disconnect the ring (7) from the drain valve (5).
(3) Loosen the clamps (1) at the top and the bottom of the drain valve (5).
(4) Disconnect the hoses (2) and (6).
(5) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(6) Remove the screws (3) and the washers (4).
(7) Carefully remove the drain valve (5).
(8) If necessary, dry the area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(9) If you send the drain valve (5) to the workshop, make sure that it is sterilized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
(10) If you use removed parts again, clean and disinfect them (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
A. Removal of the Drain Valve
(1) Put a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) below the drain valve (4) to collect the water.
(2) If necessary, disconnect the ring (1) from the drain valve (4).
(3) Loosen the screws of the clamps (3) and remove the clamps (3).
(4) Disconnect the hoses (2) and (5) from the drain valve (4).
(5) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(6) Remove the clamps (9):
(a) Remove the screws (8), the washers (7) and the spacers (6) from the clamps (9).
(b) Remove the clamps (9).
(7) Carefully remove the drain valve (4).
(8) If necessary, dry the area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(9) If you send the drain valve (4) to the workshop, make sure that it is clean (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
(10) If you use the removed parts again, use disinfectant to clean them (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
(1) Put a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) below the drain valve (4) to collect the water.

(3) Loosen the screws of the clamps (3) and remove the clamps (3).
(4) Disconnect the hoses (2) and (5) from the drain valve (4).
(5) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(6) Remove the clamps (9):
(a) Remove the screws (8), the washers (7) and the spacers (6) from the clamps (9).
(b) Remove the clamps (9).
(7) Carefully remove the drain valve (4).
(8) If necessary, dry the area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(9) If you send the drain valve (4) to the workshop, make sure that it is clean (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
(10) If you use the removed parts again, use disinfectant to clean them (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
