Removal of the Drain Valve (Air Stop Valve) in the Lavatories
WARNING:
ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
- ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, OR
- ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE SYSTEM.
WARNING:
DO NOT DO WORK ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
NOTE: The procedure for the removal of all the drain valves in the lavatories is the same.

C. Get Access
(1) Get access to the passenger cabin.
(2) Open the lavatory door.
(3) Open access panel to the potable water shut off valve.
(4) Close the shut off valve (7).

(3) Open access panel to the potable water shut off valve.
(4) Close the shut off valve (7).
C. Get Access
(1) Get access to the passenger cabin.
(2) Open the related lavatory door.
(3) Open the access door of the related potable-water shutoff valve (8).
(4) Turn the control handle to close the related potable-water shutoff valve (8).
(5) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to open the potable-water shutoff valve (8).
4. Procedure(1) Get access to the passenger cabin.
(2) Open the related lavatory door.
(3) Open the access door of the related potable-water shutoff valve (8).
(4) Turn the control handle to close the related potable-water shutoff valve (8).
(5) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to open the potable-water shutoff valve (8).
Subtask 38-32-41-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Drain Valve 4251MM
(1) Put a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) below the drain valve to collect the water.
(2) Loosen the clamps (1) at the top and the bottom of the drain valve.
(3) Disconnect the hoses (2) and (6).
(4) Remove the screws (3) and the washers (4).
(5) Remove the drain valve (5).
(6) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(7) If you send the drain valve to the repair shop, make sure that it is sterilized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
(8) If you use removed parts again, clean and disinfect them (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
Subtask 38-32-41-020-050-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) below the drain valve to collect the water.
(2) Loosen the clamps (1) at the top and the bottom of the drain valve.
(3) Disconnect the hoses (2) and (6).
(4) Remove the screws (3) and the washers (4).
(5) Remove the drain valve (5).
(6) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(7) If you send the drain valve to the repair shop, make sure that it is sterilized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
(8) If you use removed parts again, clean and disinfect them (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
A. Removal of the Drain Valve
(1) Put a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) below the drain valve (6) to collect the water.
(2) Loosen the screws of the clamps (4) and remove the clamps (4).
(3) Disconnect the hoses (5) and (7) from the drain valve (6).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(5) Remove the nuts (3).
(6) Remove the screws (1) and the washers (2).
(7) Remove the drain valve (6).
(8) If you send the drain valve (6) to the workshop, make sure that it is clean (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
(9) If you use the removed parts again, use disinfectant to clean them (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
(1) Put a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) below the drain valve (6) to collect the water.
(2) Loosen the screws of the clamps (4) and remove the clamps (4).
(3) Disconnect the hoses (5) and (7) from the drain valve (6).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(5) Remove the nuts (3).
(6) Remove the screws (1) and the washers (2).
(7) Remove the drain valve (6).
(8) If you send the drain valve (6) to the workshop, make sure that it is clean (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
(9) If you use the removed parts again, use disinfectant to clean them (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
