A. Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

B. Removal of the Filter
F Filter of the Waste Water Drain - Assembly ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Open the lavatory door.
   (2) Remove the filter (3) from the washbasin drain-valve assembly (4):
     (a) Remove the sieve (1).
     (b) Remove the O-ring (2).
     (c) If necessary, discard the O-ring (2).
     (d) Remove the filter (3).

B. Removal of the Filter
F Filter of the Waste Water Drain - Assembly ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Open the lavatory door.
   (2) Remove the filter (3) from the washbasin drain-valve assembly (4):
     (a) Push and hold the drain knob (5).
     (b) Push the plug (1) and turn it clockwise to unlock it and remove the plug (1).
     (c) Release the knob (5).
     (d) Remove the filter (3) from the washbasin drain-valve assembly (4).
     (e) Remove the O-ring (2).
     (f) If necessary, discard the O-ring (2).
4. Procedure

A. Cleaning of the Filter of the Washbasin Drain-Valve Assembly

WARNING: ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES, GOGGLES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHES WHEN YOU DO THIS TASK.
   (1) Put the filter (3) of the washbasin drain-valve assembly (4) in Aqueous Cleaner-Immersion use - Alkaline base- Turbine Engine (Material No.08AKB5) for approximately 30 minutes.
   (2) Clean the filter (3) with clean water.
   (3) Use AIR SOURCE FILTERED, DRY to fully dry the filter.
   (4) Examine the filter for damage, if necessary replace the AIPC 38-32-42-02-090 FILTER (3).

A. Installation of the Filter in the Washbasin Drain-Valve Assembly
F Filter of the Waste Water Drain - Assembly ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Make sure that the washbasin drain-valve assembly (4) is clean.
   (2) Put the filter (3) in position.
   (3) Examine the O-ring (2) for possible damage.
   (4) If necessary, replace the AIPC 38-32-42-02-080 O-RING (2).
   (5) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) to the O-ring (2).
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU INSTALL THE O-RING ON THE SIEVE. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE O-RING IF YOU EXPAND IT TOO MUCH.
   (6) Use the T060040 ASSEMBLY TOOL to install the O-ring (2) on the sieve (1).
NOTE: If the ASSEMBLY TOOL is not available, you can install the O-ring with your hand.
   (7) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) to the outer diameter of the sieve (1).
   (8) Install the sieve (1) in the washbasin drain-valve assembly (4).
   (9) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (10) Close the lavatory door.
Subtask 38-32-00-410-055-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Filter in the Washbasin Drain-Valve Assembly
F Filter of the Waste Water Drain - Assembly ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Make sure that the washbasin drain-valve assembly (4) is clean.
   (2) Put the filter (3) in position.
   (3) If necessary, apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) to the O-ring (2).
   (4) Install the O-ring (2) on the plug (1). If necessary, install a new AIPC 38-32-42-02-080 O-RING (2).
   (5) Install the plug (1) in the washbasin drain-valve assembly (4):
     (a) Push and hold the knob (5).
     (b) Put the plug (1) in position.
     (c) Push the plug (1) down and turn it counterclockwise to lock the plug (1) in position.
   (6) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

B. Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.

C. De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
