Subtask 38-32-00-110-050-A
WARNING: ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES, GOGGLES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHES WHEN YOU DO THIS TASK.
A. Cleaning of the Waste-Water Drain-Lines
   (1) Put the small hose end of the HOSE - DRAIN in the drain line of each drain mast.
     (a) As an alternative to the HOSE - DRAIN, you can use an 98D38108002000 ADAPTER DRAIN MAST. Refer to the related GIM.
     (b) Make sure that all the connections of the waste water system are tightened. If the connections are loose, the liquid will flow into the lower fuselage.
     (c) Make sure that the hose end of the drain assembly is installed in the drain mast. If the hose end is not installed in the drain mast, the liquid will flow back into the lower fuselage.
NOTE: It is necessary to use a dedicated CAP - SEALING with the clamp P/N ASNA0033-036 or P/N ASNA0033-045 to seal all the open waste-water line connections during the cleaning procedure. This prevents the fluid leakage into the lower fuselage.
NOTE: If a sleeve is installed, you can use the PLUG P/N D3831011520200 with the clamp P/N ASNA0033H036, as an alternative.
   (2) Put the end of the hose assemblies in a CONTAINER 30 L(8 USGAL).
   (3) Close the shutoff valve on the drain hose assemblies.
   (4) Make a solution of 10 l (2.64 USgal) of vinegar (10% acetic acid solution) and 10 l (2.64 USgal) of water.
   (5) In the galleys:
NOTE: The drain lines of the galley equipment (beverage maker, coffee maker, combi-brewer and water boiler/heater) can be cleaned manually. If necessary, you can clean the drain lines of the galley equipment in the workshop.
     (a) Clean the drain lines of the galley sink:
1 Slowly fill the sink of the forward and aft galley with the mixture until it is full.
2 Make sure that the mixture does not fill the washbasin in the forward and aft lavatory.
3 Let the mixture stay in the system for 1 hour.
4 After 1 hour open the shutoff valve of the drain hose assemblies and drain the system.
5 Flush the waste water lines with 5 l (1.32 USgal) of clean water.
   (6) If necessary, remove the drain hose assemblies from the drain masts.
   (7) In the lavatories:
     (a) Make sure that the shutoff valve on the drain hose assemblies is closed.
     (b) Clean the drain lines:
1 Slowly fill the washbasin of the forward and aft lavatories with the mixture until it is full.
2 Let the mixture stay in the system for 1 hour.
3 After 1 hour open the shutoff valves of the drain hose assemblies and drain the system.
4 Flush the waste water lines with 5 l (1.32 USgal) of clean water.
   (8) Remove the drain hose assemblies from the drain masts.
5. Close-up
