Installation of the Control Lever Unit
WARNING:
DO NOT DO WORK ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING:
ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
- ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, OR
- ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE SYSTEM.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized from the external power (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that the toilet system is drained (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-680-001).

C. Preparation for Installation
(2) Apply Release Agent-- Liquid Wax - (Material No.14DBB1) to the interface of the control lever unit (7).
(3) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) to the screws (4) and the interface surface of the control lever unit (7).
4. ProcedureWARNING:
DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) . - FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
- GET MEDICAL AID.
(2) Apply Release Agent-- Liquid Wax - (Material No.14DBB1) to the interface of the control lever unit (7).
(3) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) to the screws (4) and the interface surface of the control lever unit (7).
Subtask 38-31-73-420-050-A
A. Installation of the Control Lever Unit 3341MM
(1) Install the control lever unit (7):
(a) Put the control lever unit (7) in its installation position.
(b) Install the screws (4), the washers (5) and the nuts (6).
(2) Install the rod assembly (11):
(a) Install the nut (14) and the rod end assembly (13) on the rod assembly (11).
(b) TORQUE the nut (14) to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )

(c) Put the rod assembly (11) in its installation position on the control lever unit (7).
(d) Install the pin (10) and the washer (9).
(e) Safety the pin (10) with a new AIPC 38-31-73-01-010 COTTER PIN (8).
(f) Install the nut (16) and the rod end assembly (15) on the rod assembly (11).
(g) TORQUE the nut (16) to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )

(h) Put the rod assembly (11) in its installation position on the shut-off valve (12).
(i) Install the bolt (1), the washer (2) and the nut (3).
Subtask 38-31-73-210-050-A (1) Install the control lever unit (7):
(a) Put the control lever unit (7) in its installation position.
(b) Install the screws (4), the washers (5) and the nuts (6).
(2) Install the rod assembly (11):
(a) Install the nut (14) and the rod end assembly (13) on the rod assembly (11).
(b) TORQUE the nut (14) to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )
. (c) Put the rod assembly (11) in its installation position on the control lever unit (7).
(d) Install the pin (10) and the washer (9).
(e) Safety the pin (10) with a new AIPC 38-31-73-01-010 COTTER PIN (8).
(f) Install the nut (16) and the rod end assembly (15) on the rod assembly (11).
(g) TORQUE the nut (16) to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in )
. (h) Put the rod assembly (11) in its installation position on the shut-off valve (12).
(i) Install the bolt (1), the washer (2) and the nut (3).
B. Inspection
(1) Make sure that the drain valve is completely opened when the control lever 3341MM (7) is in the DRAIN position.
(2) Make sure that the drain valve is completely closed when the control lever 3341MM (7) is in the NORMAL position.
Subtask 38-31-73-613-050-A (1) Make sure that the drain valve is completely opened when the control lever 3341MM (7) is in the DRAIN position.

C. Fill the waste holding tank 3300MM with 13.5 l (3.5663 USgal) of Deodorant-Aircraft Toilets - - (Material No.11GCA1) .

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the access panel 162DW.
(3) Close the waste service panel 172AR.
(4) Close the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 38-31-73-862-050-A (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the access panel 162DW.
(3) Close the waste service panel 172AR.
(4) Close the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
