Removal of the Control Lever Unit
WARNING:
DO NOT DO WORK ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING:
ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
- ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, OR
- ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE SYSTEM.
WARNING:
WHEN YOU REMOVE A COMPONENT OF THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, ALWAYS DISINFECT THE PART BEFORE YOU PUT IT IN A PLASTIC BAG, THEN SEAL THE BAG.
DO NOT PUT DOCUMENTS INTO THE PLASTIC BAG. SEAL THE BAG FIRST,THEN ATTACH THE DOCUMENTS TO IT.

D. Get Access
(1) Open the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the AFT cargo-compartment door and at the waste service panel 17AR.
(3) Remove the access panel 162DW.
(4) Open the waste service panel 172AR.
4. Procedure(1) Open the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the AFT cargo-compartment door and at the waste service panel 17AR.
(3) Remove the access panel 162DW.
(4) Open the waste service panel 172AR.

A. Removal of the Control Lever Unit 3341MM
(a) Remove the nut (3), the washer (2) and the bolt (1).
(b) Remove the rod assembly (11) from the shut-off valve (12).
(c) Remove the rod end assembly (15) and the nut (16) from the rod assembly (11).
(d) Remove and discard the cotter pin (8).
(e) Remove the washer (9) and the pin (10).
(f) Remove the rod assembly (11) from the control lever unit (7).
(g) Remove the rod end assembly (13) and the nut (14) from the rod assembly (11).
(2) Remove the control lever unit (7):
(a) Remove the nuts (6), the washers (5) and the screws (4).
(b) Carefully remove the control lever unit (7).
WARNING:
ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES, GOGGLES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHES WHEN YOU DO THIS TASK.
(1) Remove the rod assembly (11): (a) Remove the nut (3), the washer (2) and the bolt (1).
(b) Remove the rod assembly (11) from the shut-off valve (12).
(c) Remove the rod end assembly (15) and the nut (16) from the rod assembly (11).
(d) Remove and discard the cotter pin (8).
(e) Remove the washer (9) and the pin (10).
(f) Remove the rod assembly (11) from the control lever unit (7).
(g) Remove the rod end assembly (13) and the nut (14) from the rod assembly (11).
(2) Remove the control lever unit (7):
(a) Remove the nuts (6), the washers (5) and the screws (4).
(b) Carefully remove the control lever unit (7).
