Installation of the Waste Drain Valve


WARNING: DO NOT DO WORK ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (TOILET WASTE IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).

   (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Make sure that the toilet system is drained (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-680-001).

C. Do this Leak Test
   (1) Make sure that the drain cap 3345MM is close.
   (2) Put the drain lever 3341MM to the drain position.
   (3) Fill the waste tank with approximately 10 l of water.
   (4) Examine the waste drain valve 3340MM and the valve attachments for leaks.
NOTE: Leaks are not permitted.
   (5) Drain the waste holding tank (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-680-001).

D. Service the waste holding tank 3300MM (Ref. AMM TASK 12-16-38-613-001).

A. Close Access
   (1) Install the insulation around the waste drain valve.
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Install access panel 162DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-001).
   (4) Close the aft cargo compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
   (5) Remove the access platform(s).

B. De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
