Removal of the Water Separator


WARNING: DO NOT DO WORK ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (TOILET WASTE IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).
WARNING: WHEN YOU REMOVE A COMPONENT OF THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, ALWAYS DISINFECT THE PART BEFORE YOU PUT IT IN A PLASTIC BAG, THEN SEAL THE BAG. DO NOT PUT DOCUMENTS INTO THE PLASTIC BAG. SEAL THE BAG FIRST,THEN ATTACH THE DOCUMENTS TO IT. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION OR ILLNESS. CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.

   (1) Drain and flush the waste tank (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-680-001).
   (2) Put 2. l (0.5283 USgal) of Deodorant-Aircraft Toilets - - (Material No.11GCA1) in each toilet bowl and flush them through.
NOTE: This procedure is to make sure that the full toilet system is disinfected.

   (1) Open the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at Zone 172.
   (3) Remove access panel 162DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).
   (4) Remove the insulation from around the water separator.
4. Procedure
Subtask 38-31-67-020-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Water Separator 3302MM
WARNING: ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES, GOGGLES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHES WHEN YOU DO THIS TASK.
   (1) Remove the clamps (1).
   (2) Remove the sleeve (2).
   (3) Remove the V-clamp (6).
   (4) Remove the filter housing assembly (7) from the waste tank (4).
   (5) Remove the basic separator (5).
   (6) Remove and discard the packing (3).
   (7) Disinfect the filter housing assembly (7) and the basic separator (5) with Disinfectant and cleaner-Aircraft general - - (Material No.11CBA1) .
   (8) Put a CAP - BLANKING to the open port of the waste tank.
   (9) If necessary, service the water separator 3302MM (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-67-610-001).
   (10) If you use removed parts again, clean and disinfect them (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).

A. Removal of the Water Separator 3302MM

   (8) Put a CAP - BLANKING to the open port of the waste tank (4).
   (9) If necessary, service the water separator 3302MM (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-67-610-001).
   (10) If you use removed parts again, clean and disinfect them (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
