WARNING:
WHEN YOU REMOVE A COMPONENT OF THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, ALWAYS DISINFECT THE PART BEFORE YOU PUT IT IN A PLASTIC BAG, THEN SEAL THE BAG.
DO NOT PUT DOCUMENTS INTO THE PLASTIC BAG. SEAL THE BAG FIRST,THEN ATTACH THE DOCUMENTS TO IT.

D. Get Access
(1) Get access to the waste tank:
(a) Open the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(b) In the aft cargo compartment, on service panel 2024VU, set CARGO-COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to the ON position.
(c) Remove partition panels 161DW and 162DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).
(2) Get access to the lavatories:
(a) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position at all toilets to tell persons not to use them.
(3) Get access to the galleys:
(a) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to use the Galley Waste Disposal-Unit (GWDU), if installed.
Subtask 38-31-00-865-138-A (1) Get access to the waste tank:
(a) Open the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(b) In the aft cargo compartment, on service panel 2024VU, set CARGO-COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to the ON position.

F. Get Access to the Waste System
(a) Open and remove the clamshells (7) from the waste line pipe (1).
(b) Move the sleeves (6) to one side.
(2) Remove the nuts (18) and the washers (17).
(3) Remove the bolts (14) and the washers (15).
(4) Remove the clamps (16).
(5) Remove the bolts (11) and the washers (12).
(6) Remove the bracket (13).
(7) Remove the waste line pipe (1).
(8) Remove and discard the packings (5) from the waste line pipe (1).
(9) Remove and discard the packing (5) from the waste inlet (10).
(10) Make sure that the packing (5) is installed on the vacuum waste line (3).
(11) Put a CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected line end(s).
Subtask 38-31-00-110-069-A WARNING:
ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES, GOGGLES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHES WHEN YOU DO THIS TASK.
(1) Disconnect the waste line pipe (1) as follows: (a) Open and remove the clamshells (7) from the waste line pipe (1).
(b) Move the sleeves (6) to one side.
(2) Remove the nuts (18) and the washers (17).
(3) Remove the bolts (14) and the washers (15).
(4) Remove the clamps (16).
(5) Remove the bolts (11) and the washers (12).
(6) Remove the bracket (13).
(7) Remove the waste line pipe (1).
(8) Remove and discard the packings (5) from the waste line pipe (1).
(9) Remove and discard the packing (5) from the waste inlet (10).
(10) Make sure that the packing (5) is installed on the vacuum waste line (3).
(11) Put a CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected line end(s).
G. Cleaning of the Waste Line Pipe
(1) Clean the waste line pipe (1) as follows:
(a) Prepare a solution of Disinfectant-Potable Water System Hypochlorite - (Material No.11AKB1) and water as given in the table.
(b) Put the waste line pipe (1) in an applicable container with the solution and let it stay for 4 hours.
(c) After 4 hours, remove the waste line pipe (1) from the container.
(d) If necessary, clean the waste line pipe (1) with a BRUSH - BRISTLED.
(e) Flush the waste line pipe (1) with clean water.
Subtask 38-31-00-290-054-A (1) Clean the waste line pipe (1) as follows:
(a) Prepare a solution of Disinfectant-Potable Water System Hypochlorite - (Material No.11AKB1) and water as given in the table.

H. Internal Inspection of the Waste Lines (if necessary)
(2) Use a BORESCOPE - FLEXIBLE to do the inspection of the vacuum waste line (3).
(a) If the vacuum waste line (3) shows conditions 1 to 4, cleaning is not necessary.
(b) If the vacuum waste line (3) shows conditions 5 to 9, follow the procedure. necessary.
(3) Install the CAP - BLANKING on the vacuum waste line (3).
Subtask 38-31-00-710-070-A WARNING:
ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES, GOGGLES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHES WHEN YOU DO THIS TASK.
(1) At the waste tank, remove the CAP - BLANKING from the disconnected vacuum waste line (3). (2) Use a BORESCOPE - FLEXIBLE to do the inspection of the vacuum waste line (3).
(a) If the vacuum waste line (3) shows conditions 1 to 4, cleaning is not necessary.
(b) If the vacuum waste line (3) shows conditions 5 to 9, follow the procedure. necessary.
(3) Install the CAP - BLANKING on the vacuum waste line (3).
I. Preparation of the WLC1 WASTE LINE CL.TROLLEY or WLC1A WASTELINE CLEANING TROLLEY
(1) Make sure that the WLC1 WASTE LINE CL.TROLLEY or WLC1A WASTELINE CLEANING TROLLEY (referred to as the ground cart) is connected to an applicable power supply. Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instruction.
(2) Do a functional test of the ground cart. Refer to the GSE manufacture's instructions.
(3) Fill the ground cart with water and Aqueous Cleaner-Toilet System Curative De-scaling & Re-circulating - (Material No.08AHC1) . Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instructions.
Subtask 38-31-00-860-078-A (1) Make sure that the WLC1 WASTE LINE CL.TROLLEY or WLC1A WASTELINE CLEANING TROLLEY (referred to as the ground cart) is connected to an applicable power supply. Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instruction.
(2) Do a functional test of the ground cart. Refer to the GSE manufacture's instructions.
(3) Fill the ground cart with water and Aqueous Cleaner-Toilet System Curative De-scaling & Re-circulating - (Material No.08AHC1) . Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instructions.
J. Connection of the Cleaning Kit
(a) Put a SHEET - PLASTIC on the floor of the lavatory and the adjacent area to give protection to the floor coverings.
(b) Remove the toilet shroud (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-000-001).
(c) Close the water shutoff valve (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-040-002).
(d) Disconnect the toilet assembly:
1 Remove the clamshell (7) and disconnect the toilet assembly (4) from the vacuum waste line (3).
2 Remove and discard the packing (5) from the toilet assembly (4).
3 Make sure that the packing (5) stays installed on the vacuum waste line (3).
4 Connect the adapter hose (9) to the vacuum waste line (3) with the clamshell (7). If necessary, remove the toilet assembly for better access (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-41-000-001).
5 Connect the necessary equipment between the adapter hose (9) and the ground cart. Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instructions.
(2) Prepare the mid toilet assembly (if installed):
(b) Remove the toilet shroud (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-000-001).
(c) Close the water shutoff valve in the lavatory (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-040-002).
(d) Remove the clamshell (7) and disconnect the toilet assembly (4) from the vacuum waste line (3).
(e) Remove and discard the packing (5) from the vacuum waste line (3).
(f) Remove and discard the packing (5) from the toilet assembly (4).
(g) Install a CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected vacuum waste line (3). If necessary, remove the toilet assembly for better access (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-41-000-001).
(3) In the waste tank compartment:
(a) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the vacuum waste line (3).
(b) Make sure that the packing (5) is installed on the vacuum waste line (3).
(c) Connect the adapter hose (9) to the vacuum waste line (3) and install the clamshell (7).
(d) Connect the necessary equipment between the adapter hoses (9) and the ground cart. Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instructions.
4. ProcedureWARNING:
ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES, GOGGLES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHES WHEN YOU DO THIS TASK.
(1) Prepare the most-forward toilet assembly: (a) Put a SHEET - PLASTIC on the floor of the lavatory and the adjacent area to give protection to the floor coverings.
(b) Remove the toilet shroud (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-000-001).
(c) Close the water shutoff valve (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-040-002).
(d) Disconnect the toilet assembly:
1 Remove the clamshell (7) and disconnect the toilet assembly (4) from the vacuum waste line (3).
2 Remove and discard the packing (5) from the toilet assembly (4).
3 Make sure that the packing (5) stays installed on the vacuum waste line (3).
4 Connect the adapter hose (9) to the vacuum waste line (3) with the clamshell (7). If necessary, remove the toilet assembly for better access (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-41-000-001).
5 Connect the necessary equipment between the adapter hose (9) and the ground cart. Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instructions.
(2) Prepare the mid toilet assembly (if installed):
NOTE: The aft toilet assemblies are connected to a different vacuum waste line. Thus, they must not be prepared.
(a) Put a SHEET - PLASTIC on the floor of the lavatory and the adjacent area to give protection to the floor coverings. (b) Remove the toilet shroud (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-000-001).
(c) Close the water shutoff valve in the lavatory (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-040-002).
(d) Remove the clamshell (7) and disconnect the toilet assembly (4) from the vacuum waste line (3).
(e) Remove and discard the packing (5) from the vacuum waste line (3).
(f) Remove and discard the packing (5) from the toilet assembly (4).
(g) Install a CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected vacuum waste line (3). If necessary, remove the toilet assembly for better access (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-41-000-001).
(3) In the waste tank compartment:
(a) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the vacuum waste line (3).
(b) Make sure that the packing (5) is installed on the vacuum waste line (3).
(c) Connect the adapter hose (9) to the vacuum waste line (3) and install the clamshell (7).
(d) Connect the necessary equipment between the adapter hoses (9) and the ground cart. Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instructions.
Subtask 38-31-00-100-065-A
A. Cleaning
(1) Do the cleaning procedure. Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instructions.
Subtask 38-31-00-170-058-A (1) Do the cleaning procedure. Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instructions.
NOTE: The cleaning procedure includes the steps:
- Leak test,
- Filling,
- Cleaning,
- Draining.
These steps change automatically.
NOTE: The time for the cleaning is between 5 hours for normal contamination (approximately 4mm) and 8 hours for strong contamination (approximately 7mm).
B. Flushing
(1) Drain the ground cart. Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instructions.
(2) Flush the vacuum waste line with clear water. Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instructions.
5. Close-up(1) Drain the ground cart. Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instructions.
(2) Flush the vacuum waste line with clear water. Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instructions.
Subtask 38-31-00-420-052-A
A. Close Access to the Waste System
(a) Remove the installed equipment from between the adapter hose (9) and the ground cart. Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instructions.
(b) Remove the clampshell (7) and the adapter hose (9) from the vacuum waste line (3).
(c) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the waste inlet (10).
(d) Remove and discard the packing (5) from the vacuum waste line (3).
(e) Apply Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-O-ring - - (Material No.03HCA4) to the new AIPC 38-31-04-26-100 PACKINGS (5).
(f) Install the new packings (5) on the waste inlet (10) and the vacuum waste line (3).
(g) Install the new packings (5) on the two ends of the waste line pipe (1).
(h) Put the waste line pipe (1) in its installation position.
(i) Move the sleeves (6) over the new packings.
(j) Put the clamshells (7) in their installation positions.
(k) Close the clamshells (7).
(l) Make sure that the clamshells (7) are locked correctly.
(m) Install the bracket (13).
(n) Install the washers (12) and the bolts (11).
(o) Put clamps (16) in their installation positions.
(p) Install the washers (15) and the bolts (14).
(q) Install the washers (17) and the nuts (18).
(2) In the most-forward lavatory:
(a) Disconnect the equipment installed on the adapter hose (9). Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instructions.
(b) Open and remove the clamshell (7).
(c) Disconnect the adapter hose (9) from the vacuum waste line (3).
(d) If removed, install the toilet assembly (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-41-400-001).
(e) Remove and discard the packing (5) from the vacuum waste line (3).
(f) Apply Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-O-ring - - (Material No.03HCA4) to the new packings.
(g) Install a new AIPC 38-31-01-47-080 PACKING (5) on the toilet assembly (4) and the vacuum waste line (3).
(h) Connect the vacuum waste line (3) and the toilet assembly (4) with the sleeve (6). Make sure that the packings (5) are in the correct position.
(i) Install the clamshell (7):
1 Put the clamshell (7) in its installation position.
2 Close the clamshell (7).
3 Make sure that the clamshell (7) is locked correctly.
(j) Open the water shutoff valve (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-440-002).
(k) Remove the SHEET - PLASTIC from the floor of the lavatory and the adjacent area.
(3) In the mid lavatory (if installed):
(a) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the vacuum waste line (3).
(b) If removed, install the toilet assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-41-400-001).
(c) Apply Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-O-ring - - (Material No.03HCA4) to the new packings (5).
(d) Install a new AIPC 38-31-01-47-080 PACKING (5) on the toilet assembly (4).
(e) Install a new AIPC 38-31-01-47-080 PACKING (5) on the vacuum waste line (3).
(f) Move the sleeves (6) over the packings (5).
(g) Install the clamshells (7) to connect the toilet assembly (4) with the vacuum waste line (3).
(h) Open the water shut-off valves (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-440-002).
(i) Remove the SHEET - PLASTIC from the floor of the lavatory and the adjacent area.
Subtask 38-31-00-865-139-A WARNING:
ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES, GOGGLES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHES WHEN YOU DO THIS TASK.
(1) At the waste tank compartment: (a) Remove the installed equipment from between the adapter hose (9) and the ground cart. Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instructions.
(b) Remove the clampshell (7) and the adapter hose (9) from the vacuum waste line (3).
(c) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the waste inlet (10).
(d) Remove and discard the packing (5) from the vacuum waste line (3).
(e) Apply Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-O-ring - - (Material No.03HCA4) to the new AIPC 38-31-04-26-100 PACKINGS (5).
(f) Install the new packings (5) on the waste inlet (10) and the vacuum waste line (3).
(g) Install the new packings (5) on the two ends of the waste line pipe (1).
(h) Put the waste line pipe (1) in its installation position.
(i) Move the sleeves (6) over the new packings.
(j) Put the clamshells (7) in their installation positions.
(k) Close the clamshells (7).
(l) Make sure that the clamshells (7) are locked correctly.
(m) Install the bracket (13).
(n) Install the washers (12) and the bolts (11).
(o) Put clamps (16) in their installation positions.
(p) Install the washers (15) and the bolts (14).
(q) Install the washers (17) and the nuts (18).
(2) In the most-forward lavatory:
(a) Disconnect the equipment installed on the adapter hose (9). Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instructions.
(b) Open and remove the clamshell (7).
(c) Disconnect the adapter hose (9) from the vacuum waste line (3).
(d) If removed, install the toilet assembly (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-41-400-001).
(e) Remove and discard the packing (5) from the vacuum waste line (3).
(f) Apply Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-O-ring - - (Material No.03HCA4) to the new packings.
(g) Install a new AIPC 38-31-01-47-080 PACKING (5) on the toilet assembly (4) and the vacuum waste line (3).
(h) Connect the vacuum waste line (3) and the toilet assembly (4) with the sleeve (6). Make sure that the packings (5) are in the correct position.
(i) Install the clamshell (7):
1 Put the clamshell (7) in its installation position.
2 Close the clamshell (7).
3 Make sure that the clamshell (7) is locked correctly.
(j) Open the water shutoff valve (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-440-002).
(k) Remove the SHEET - PLASTIC from the floor of the lavatory and the adjacent area.
(3) In the mid lavatory (if installed):
(a) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the vacuum waste line (3).
(b) If removed, install the toilet assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-41-400-001).
(c) Apply Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) or Synthetic Ester base Grease-O-ring - - (Material No.03HCA4) to the new packings (5).
(d) Install a new AIPC 38-31-01-47-080 PACKING (5) on the toilet assembly (4).
(e) Install a new AIPC 38-31-01-47-080 PACKING (5) on the vacuum waste line (3).
(f) Move the sleeves (6) over the packings (5).
(g) Install the clamshells (7) to connect the toilet assembly (4) with the vacuum waste line (3).
(h) Open the water shut-off valves (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-440-002).
(i) Remove the SHEET - PLASTIC from the floor of the lavatory and the adjacent area.
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Leak Test
(1) Do a leak test of the vacuum system and examine the connections for leaks (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-790-002).

(b) At FR65, install partition panels 161DW and 162DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-001).
(c) On service panel 2014VU, set CARGO-COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to the OFF position.
(d) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).

(1) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(2) Prepare the ground cart for storage. Refer to the GSE manufacturer's instructions.
