Special Cleaning of the Waste Tank Area and Related Component Inspections

WARNING: DO NOT DO WORK ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.

WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:

ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, OR
ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE SYSTEM.

WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (TOILET WASTE IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).

WARNING: WHEN YOU REMOVE A COMPONENT OF THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, ALWAYS DISINFECT THE PART BEFORE YOU PUT IT IN A PLASTIC BAG, THEN SEAL THE BAG. DO NOT PUT DOCUMENTS INTO THE PLASTIC BAG. SEAL THE BAG FIRST,THEN ATTACH THE DOCUMENTS TO IT. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION OR ILLNESS. CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.

B. Safety Precautions
(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Put the warning notices in position to tell persons not to use the toilet system.

C. Get Access
(1) Open the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at Zone 172.
(3) Remove the access panels 161DW and 162DW.

D. Aircraft Configuration
(1) Make sure the waste holding tank is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-61-000-001).
(2) Remove the insulation blankets from the contaminated area.

A. Cleaning of the Contaminated Area
(1) In the AFT cargo compartment, clean the contaminated area at waste holding tank and or the area of the potable water tank (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-615-001).

B. Disinfection of the AFT Cargo Compartment
(1) Use a GUN - SPRAY and apply Disinfectant-Aircraft General - - (Material No.11AAA2) in the AFT cargo compartment, the area of the waste holding tank and the area of the potable water tank (Ref. AMM TASK 12-21-12-670-001).
(2) After the disinfection, dry the area and the compartment floor with hot air at 40 DEG.C (104.00 DEG.F).

C. Cleaning of the Contaminated Area
(1) In the AFT cargo compartment, clean the contaminated area of the waste holding tank (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-615-001).

D. Disinfection of the AFT Cargo Compartment
(1) Use a GUN - SPRAY and apply Disinfectant-Aircraft General - - (Material No.11AAA2) in the AFT cargo compartment and the area of the waste holding tank (Ref. AMM TASK 12-21-12-670-001).
(2) After the disinfection, dry the area and the compartment floor with hot air at 40 DEG.C (104.00 DEG.F).

E. Inspection Check
(1) Do a check of the insulation blankets for signs of contamination.
(2) If the blankets are contaminated and in a bad condition, you must replace them.

F. Clean the aircraft structure with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and follow the recommendations as for SRM 517815.

G. Inspection Check
(1) Do an inspection of the outflow valve.
(a) If there is contamination, replace the outflow valve (Ref. AMM TASK 21-31-51-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 21-31-51-400-001).
(2) Do a check of the vacuum generator.
(a) If there is too much contamination:

Remove and clean it in the shop
Install the vacuum generator again after the cleaning or
Replace the vacuum generator (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-64-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-64-400-001).

(3) Do a check of the water separator.
(a) If there is too much contamination:

Remove and clean it in the shop
Install the water separator again after the cleaning or
Replace the water separator (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-67-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-67-400-001).

(4) Do a check of the LLT.
(a) If there is too much contamination:

Remove and clean it in the shop
Install the LLT again after the cleaning or
Replace the LLT (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-62-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-62-400-001).

(5) Do a check of the LLS.
(a) If there is too much contamination:

Remove and clean it in the shop
Install the LLS again after the cleaning or
Replace the LLS (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-63-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-63-400-001).

(2) Install the insulation blankets.
(3) Install the waste holding tank (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-61-400-001).
