C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Do the servicing of the waste holding tank (Ref. AMM TASK 12-16-38-613-001).
(2) Make sure that the potable water system is pressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-001).

NOTE: TASK 38-10-00-614-003 is an alternative water pressurization procedure to this step. This task is applicable to aircrafts which have an air compressor installed.

(1) Get access to the lavatories.

4. Procedure

WARNING: ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES, GOGGLES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHES WHEN YOU DO THIS TASK.

A. Cleaning of the Toilet Waste Lines

NOTE: Airbus recommends that you start the procedure in the most forward lavatory.

(1) Flush the toilet assembly.
(2) Put 1 l (0.26 USgal) of Aqueous Cleaner-Toilet System Preventive De-scaling - (Material No.08AHB1) or a weak vinegar solution (0.5 l (0.13 USgal) of vinegar (10% acetic acid solution) and 0.5 l (0.13 USgal) of water) into the toilet bowl.
(3) Let the cleaning agent stay in the toilet bowl for 10 minutes.
(4) Put 2 l (0.53 USgal) of crushed ice into the toilet assembly and immediately flush the toilet assembly 2 times.

NOTE: Airbus recommends that you use only the crushed ice and not the ice cubes.

(5) Do this procedure in all the lavatories.
(6) After 30 minutes, flush the toilet assemblies 3 times.

NOTE: Airbus recommends that you start the procedure in the most forward lavatory.

5. Close-up

A. Do the servicing of the waste system (Ref. AMM TASK 12-16-38-613-001).

B. Close Access
(1) Dry the area around the toilet with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Close the lavatory door(s).

C. De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
