A. Energize the ground service network

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at Zone 172.
   (3) Remove the access panel 162DW.

C. Drain/Flush and Disinfect the Waste System.
   (1) Drain and flush the waste holding tank (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-680-001).
   (2) Disinfect the waste system:
     (a) Put 2 l (0.528 USgal) of Deodorant-Aircraft Toilets - - (Material No.11GCA1) in each toilet bowl and flush them through.
NOTE: This procedure is necessary to make sure that the complete toilet system is disinfected.
   (3) Drain and flush the waste holding tank (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-680-001).

E. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to use:
  • The potable water system
  • The waste drain system
  • The toilets.
   (2) Put a SHEET - PLASTIC over the outflow valve and the adjacent area to prevent contamination from sewage.
4. Procedure
WARNING: ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES, GOGGLES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHES WHEN YOU DO THIS TASK.
NOTE: During the procedure no leaks are permitted.

A. Install the Tank Filling-Cap-Assembly (MONOGRAM SANITATION P/N 14320-090)
   (1) Remove the water separator (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-67-000-001).
   (2) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (3) Do the service of the water separator (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-67-610-001).
   (4) Lubricate the AIPC 38-31-04-34-110 O-RING (1) or AIPC 38-31-84-44-100 O-RING (1) with Silicone base Grease-Mechanisms and Seals - - (Material No.03JCA9) and put it in position in the tank (2).
   (5) Put the tank filling-cap assembly (MONOGRAM SANITATION P/N 14320-090) in position on the tank and attach it with the three clips.

B. Clean the Flow Diverter
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
   (1) Prepare the disinfectant:
     (a) Put 50 l (13.208 USgal) of Disinfectant and cleaner-Aircraft general - - (Material No.11CBA1) into a CONTAINER 70 L (18.5 USGAL).
   (2) Prepare the fill set-up:
     (a) Attach one end of a 1/2 inch HOSE - TRANSPARENT, FLEXIBLE to the inlet connection on the tank filling-cap assembly.
     (b) In the other end of the 1/2 inch filling hose, install a 1/2 inch VALVE - SHUT OFF.
     (c) Connect a PUMP - HAND to the end of the 1/2 inch filling hose with the 1/2 inch shut-off valve.
   (3) Put the hand pump into the 70 l (18,5 USgasl) container.
   (4) Prepare the overflow set-up:
     (a) Attach a 3/4 inch HOSE - OVERFLOW to the outlet connection of the tank filling-cap assembly.
     (b) Put the end of the 3/4 inch hose in a CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL).
   (5) Open the 1/2 inch shut-off valve.
   (6) Use the hand pump and move the disinfectant into the waste holding tank.
   (7) Disconnect the hand pump and connect the toilet service vehicle to the tank filling-cap assembly.
   (8) Slowly fill the waste holding tank with water until the solution starts to flow from the overflow at the tank filling-cap assembly.
NOTE: To do this step we recommend that you use warm water which is not hotter than 50 DEG.C (122.00 DEG.F).
   (9) Stop the filling and close the 1/2 inch shut-off valve.
   (10) Let the solution stay in the waste holding tank for between 6 and 12 hours.
   (11) Make sure that the warning notice(s) are set to tell persons not to use:
  • The potable water system,
  • The waste drain system,
  • The toilets.

   (1) Connect the drain hose of the toilet service-vehicle to the toilet drain connection at the waste service panel 172AR.
   (2) Open the 1/2 inch shut-off valve of the tank filling-cap assembly and drain the waste holding tank (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-680-001).

D. Flush the Waste Holding Tank

   (1) Open the cap of the toilet drain connection and the fill and rinse connection at the waste service panel 172AR.
   (2) Connect the flush/fill hose (1 inch diameter) of the toilet service vehicle to the fill and rinse connection on the waste service panel 172AR.
   (3) Connect the toilet service-vehicle hose-adaptor and 4 inch diameter drain hose to the toilet drain connection on the waste service panel 172AR.
   (4) Push the PUSH TO OPEN lever on the waste service panel 172AR.
   (5) On the waste service panel 172AR move the drain valve control-handle from the NORMAL to the DRAIN position.
   (6) Switch on and operate the toilet service vehicle. Make sure that the water pressure is stable at 2.4 bar (34.81 psi) and the water flow is stable at 38.0 l (10.04 USgal) per minute.
   (7) Flush the waste holding tank with approximately 57.0 l (15.06 USgal) of water. Make sure that the water (57.O l (15.06 USgal) completely flows out of the waste holding tank and the drain valve.
NOTE: This will take approximately 90 seconds.
   (8) Switch off the toilet service vehicle.
   (9) Put the drain valve control-handle in the NORMAL position.
   (10) Disconnect the flush/fill hose (1 inch diameter) of the toilet service vehicle from the waste service panel 172AR.
   (11) Disconnect the toilet service-vehicle adaptor and the 4 inch diameter drain hose from the toilet drain connection on waste service panel 172AR.
   (12) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

E. Remove the Tank Filling-Cap Assembly
   (1) Remove, clean and disinfect the tank filling-cap assembly with the applicable tools and items.
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
