Subtask 38-14-48-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (1), and remove the washer (2).
(b) Remove the pin (3) from the clevis (12).
(c) If there is a lockwire at the locknut (13), remove and discard it.
(d) Remove the clevis (12) and the locknut (13) from the cable (9).
(2) At the sliding end (5):
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (1), and remove the washer (2).
(b) Remove the pin (3) from the sliding end (5).
(c) Loosen the self-locking nut (4) but do not remove it.
(d) Turn the sliding end (5) clockwise and remove it from the cable (9).
(e) Pull the cable (9) out of the rigid sleeve (10) and the swivel ends (6).
(3) Loosen the hollow hex head screws (11) at the swivel ends (6) and remove the rigid sleeve (10).
(4) Remove the nuts (8), the washers (7) and the swivel ends (6).

B. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position in front of the applicable passenger/crew door 832 or 842.
(2) Open the passenger/crew door 832 or 842 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
Subtask 38-14-48-680-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL Subtask 38-14-48-010-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position in front of the applicable passenger/crew door 832 or 842.
(2) Open the passenger/crew door 832 or 842 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
D. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position at the drain and overflow panel 192NB.
(2) Open the drain and overflow panel 192NB.
(3) In the drain and overflow panel, put the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to turn the control handle.
(4) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the service panel 2023VU.
(5) Open the access door 171AL of the service panel 2023VU.
(6) In the service panel 2023VU, put the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to turn the control handle.
(7) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the FWD cargo-compartment door 825
(8) Open the FWD cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(9) Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU to ON.
(10) In the FWD cargo-compartment, remove the partition panel 132PW.
Subtask 38-14-48-865-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position at the drain and overflow panel 192NB.
(2) Open the drain and overflow panel 192NB.
(3) In the drain and overflow panel, put the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to turn the control handle.
(4) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the service panel 2023VU.
(5) Open the access door 171AL of the service panel 2023VU.
(6) In the service panel 2023VU, put the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to turn the control handle.
(7) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the FWD cargo-compartment door 825
(8) Open the FWD cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(9) Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU to ON.
(10) In the FWD cargo-compartment, remove the partition panel 132PW.
E. Open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):

WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
A. Removal of the Control Cable NOTE: If necessary remove the insulation sleeve.
(1) At the clevis (12): (a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (1), and remove the washer (2).
(b) Remove the pin (3) from the clevis (12).
(c) If there is a lockwire at the locknut (13), remove and discard it.
(d) Remove the clevis (12) and the locknut (13) from the cable (9).
(2) At the sliding end (5):
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (1), and remove the washer (2).
(b) Remove the pin (3) from the sliding end (5).
(c) Loosen the self-locking nut (4) but do not remove it.
(d) Turn the sliding end (5) clockwise and remove it from the cable (9).
(e) Pull the cable (9) out of the rigid sleeve (10) and the swivel ends (6).
(3) Loosen the hollow hex head screws (11) at the swivel ends (6) and remove the rigid sleeve (10).
(4) Remove the nuts (8), the washers (7) and the swivel ends (6).
