A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that the potable water system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
(3) Make sure that the aft cargo-compartment door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-003).
(4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
(5) Make sure that CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU is set to ON.
(6) Make sure that partition 161DW is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).
(7) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
(8) Make sure that potable-water service door 171AL is open.
Subtask 38-14-47-865-055-A (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that the potable water system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
(3) Make sure that the aft cargo-compartment door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-003).
(4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
(5) Make sure that CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU is set to ON.
(6) Make sure that partition 161DW is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).
(7) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
(8) Make sure that potable-water service door 171AL is open.
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

Subtask 38-14-47-560-050-A
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Remove the sealant from the service panel with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(2) Clean the service panel with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(3) Clean the cable (3) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) .
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(5) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the cable (3).
Subtask 38-14-47-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the sealant from the service panel with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(2) Clean the service panel with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(3) Clean the cable (3) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) .
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(5) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the cable (3).
B. Installation of the Control Cable
(1) Put the swivel end (6) in position.
(2) Install the washer (5) and the nut (4).
(3) Put the casing (2) in position.
(4) Install the nut (1) in the swivel end (6) but do not tighten at this time:
(a) Apply Release Agent-- Liquid Wax - (Material No.14DBB1) to the flange of the control handle assembly (12).
(b) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) to the flange of the control handle assembly (12) and to the screws (13).
(c) Install the cable (3) in the casing (2).
(d) Put the control handle assembly (12) in position.
(e) Install the washers (14), the screws (13) and the nuts (15).
(f) Install the nut (1) on the control handle assembly (12).
(g) Tighten the nuts (1).
(h) Install the sliding end (11) on the cable (3).
(i) Apply Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) to the sealant around the control handle assembly (12).
Subtask 38-14-47-420-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the swivel end (6) in position.
(2) Install the washer (5) and the nut (4).
(3) Put the casing (2) in position.
(4) Install the nut (1) in the swivel end (6) but do not tighten at this time:
(a) Apply Release Agent-- Liquid Wax - (Material No.14DBB1) to the flange of the control handle assembly (12).
(b) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) to the flange of the control handle assembly (12) and to the screws (13).
(c) Install the cable (3) in the casing (2).
(d) Put the control handle assembly (12) in position.
(e) Install the washers (14), the screws (13) and the nuts (15).
(f) Install the nut (1) on the control handle assembly (12).
(g) Tighten the nuts (1).
(h) Install the sliding end (11) on the cable (3).
(i) Apply Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) to the sealant around the control handle assembly (12).
B. Installation of the Control Cable
(1) Put the swivel end (6) in position.
(2) Install the washer (5) and the nut (4).
(3) Put the casing (2) in position.
(4) Install the nut (1) in the swivel end (6) but do not tighten at this time:
(a) Apply Release Agent-- Liquid Wax - (Material No.14DBB1) to the flange of the control handle assembly (15).
(b) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) to the flange of the control handle assembly (15) and the screws (13).
(c) Install the cable (3) in the casing (2).
(d) Put the control handle assembly (15) in position.
(e) Install the washers (14), the screws (13) and the nuts (16).
(f) Install the nuts(1) on the control handle assembly (15).
(g) Tighten the nuts (1).
(h) Install the sliding end (12) on the cable (3).
(i) Apply Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) to the sealant around the control handle assembly (15).
Subtask 38-14-47-710-050-A (1) Put the swivel end (6) in position.
(2) Install the washer (5) and the nut (4).
(3) Put the casing (2) in position.
(4) Install the nut (1) in the swivel end (6) but do not tighten at this time:
(a) Apply Release Agent-- Liquid Wax - (Material No.14DBB1) to the flange of the control handle assembly (15).
(b) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) to the flange of the control handle assembly (15) and the screws (13).
(c) Install the cable (3) in the casing (2).
(d) Put the control handle assembly (15) in position.
(e) Install the washers (14), the screws (13) and the nuts (16).
(f) Install the nuts(1) on the control handle assembly (15).
(g) Tighten the nuts (1).
(h) Install the sliding end (12) on the cable (3).
(i) Apply Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) to the sealant around the control handle assembly (15).
C. Operational Test of the Control Cable
(1) At service panel 2023VU:
(a) Operate the fill/drain handle to make sure that it moves smoothly and without resistance.
(b) If necessary:
1 Clean the cable (3) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Trichloroethane Legacy (Material No.08BBU9) .
2 Clean the cable (3) with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
3 Dry the cable (3) with a AIR SOURCE FILTERED, DRY.
(c) If necessary, apply a thin layer of Silicone base Grease-- Paste - (Material No.03JAB1) on the cable (3).
Subtask 38-14-47-820-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) At service panel 2023VU:
(a) Operate the fill/drain handle to make sure that it moves smoothly and without resistance.
(b) If necessary:
1 Clean the cable (3) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Trichloroethane Legacy (Material No.08BBU9) .
2 Clean the cable (3) with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
3 Dry the cable (3) with a AIR SOURCE FILTERED, DRY.
(c) If necessary, apply a thin layer of Silicone base Grease-- Paste - (Material No.03JAB1) on the cable (3).
D. Adjustment of the Control Cable
(1) Make sure that the fill/overflow and drain handle is in the normal position.
(2) Hold the lever of the fill/overflow and drain valve 8MA in the closed position.
(3) Adjust the sliding end (12) until you can install the pin (10).
(5) Install the pin (10), the washers (9) and (8) and the new AIPC 38-14-47-01-190 COTTER PIN (7).
(6) Tighten the nut (11).
Subtask 38-14-47-820-050-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the fill/overflow and drain handle is in the normal position.
(2) Hold the lever of the fill/overflow and drain valve 8MA in the closed position.
(3) Adjust the sliding end (12) until you can install the pin (10).
NOTE: The sliding end (12) is left hand threaded.
(4) Make sure that you can feel or see the cable (3) through the inspection hole in the sliding end (12). (5) Install the pin (10), the washers (9) and (8) and the new AIPC 38-14-47-01-190 COTTER PIN (7).
(6) Tighten the nut (11).
D. Adjustment of the Control Cable
(1) Make sure that the fill/drain handle is in the normal position.
(2) Hold the lever of the fill/drain valve 16MA in the closed position.
(3) Adjust the sliding end (11) until you can install the pin (7).
(5) Install the pin (7) the washer (8) and the new AIPC 38-14-47-01-190 COTTER PIN (9).
(6) Tighten the nut (10).
Subtask 38-14-47-865-056-A (1) Make sure that the fill/drain handle is in the normal position.
(2) Hold the lever of the fill/drain valve 16MA in the closed position.
(3) Adjust the sliding end (11) until you can install the pin (7).
NOTE: The sliding end (11) is left hand threaded.
(4) Make sure that you can feel or see the cable (3) through the inspection hole in the sliding end (11). (5) Install the pin (7) the washer (8) and the new AIPC 38-14-47-01-190 COTTER PIN (9).
(6) Tighten the nut (10).
E. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close potable-water service door 171AL.
(3) Install partition 161DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-001).
(4) Set CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to OFF.
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
(6) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-004).
Subtask 38-14-47-613-050-A (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close potable-water service door 171AL.
(3) Install partition 161DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-001).
(4) Set CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to OFF.
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
(6) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-004).
B. Do the servicing of the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 12-15-38-613-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-15-38-613-002).
